    Why would we be mad about people posting something that has about the lowest possible chance of starting an argument or stirring the pot? I’m just watching the self-correction down votes start to come in.

        People from other instances can still down vote, and they show up for people on other instances.

          The only downvotes you see on remote instances are from people on the same instance. Unless something has changed, lemmy doesn’t federate downvotes when the community is hosted on an instance with downvotes disabled (https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/2128)

            Yeah, it happens for every reason from “doesn’t add to the conversation”, “I don’t like you”, and “I disagree” to just using the wrong gesture in an app on accident without noticing.
