Still holding out hope for the return of the chili cheese burrito.
The CCB is a franchisee optional item, they vary wildly in availability as a result.
For example, they’ve been available in every Colorado location I’ve been to
I am glad it exists in some realms, but remain disappointed as it is not available to me.
Have you tried the CCB locator?
The item you seek could be closer than you think
Despair.
Edit: I do appreciate the attempt.
Lol I tried, hopefully you’ll find your prize one day fellow CCB fan 🫡
At least the link is here for wayward chili cheese burrito fans
Wow only three in California. Never had one I don’t think.
I do miss the encharito. Which went away and came back and went away and came back again. Every time it comes back it is shittier than it was before :( But I miss it. Is there a map of where those are available?
No chillitos in all of New England either, gotta go to NYC for the closest, then Ohio or NC.
I was in Cadillac MI last summer, regrettably ate at a Taco Bell, and didn’t even know I could have gotten one! It was the first run to the border I’d made in years too!
Sat up all night in a wind storm with cramps afterwards. 0/10
Damn, USA only
An actual crunchwrap has never looked like that.
They need to remake “falling down” for millenials, but it’s at taco bell. Or maybe they don’t, I don’t know…
1am, taco bell is open. Guy orders a crunch wrap meal, and they have no problem making it. It’s exactly the same as it’s always been and the guy is happy. Cashier rings him up and it’s $20. He snaps.
They’d remake it with Kevin Hart and make him the good guy, completely missing the point
Urgh, just like Old Boy.
An actual crunchwrap has never looked like that.
Yum! Pile of sadness! You know what youre getting from Taco Bell.
There are certain restaurants that everyone says are absolute trash, and yet they stay open.
My wife and I call them Shitty Tacos, and sometimes we say things like “would you like some Shitty Tacos tonight?”. The answer is often “yes”. Especially if we can’t decide on anything else.
It true, but I gotta make it steak
black bean is honestly really good (and doesn’t cost extra)
Black bean might be my favorite and I’m not even vegetarian
The steak BREAKFAST Crunchwrap is the greatest thing.
The only thing I have been getting at Taco Bell since the discontinuation of the grilled stuft burrito is a steak power bowl. It’s just a bowl of all the ingredients they have, sans a tortilla-based wrapping or shell. I then get some fresh made tortilla chips from a Mexican grocery store nearby and eat it like a taco salad.
Taco Bell is my depression meter. Not a joke. 1x or less a month, I’m ok, 2x/month, prolly fine, just hungry. If I get to 1- 2x per week I tell my friends in hopes they can help me.
I do the same thing with chipotle.
It’ll come back, has before, till then I’ve gone to the steak grilled cheese burrito
Prices are nuts though. I’m on the road a lot so I still get it especially if I roll into town extra late. But 20 years ago I could get a grilled stuffed burrito for like $2.50 and that was a whole meal. Maybe even the only thing I ate all day back in those poverty days. Now I spend at least 20 bucks for the same amount of food. And I could go to a nice Mexican American sit down place and get the same amount of much better food for about $15.
Fast food places in general have gouged consumers for multiple times the rate of inflation the last few years. Taco Bell has beaten everyone else by a fair amount in being evil though :(
The power bowl is nice combined with other stuff. During Hatch chili season, I roasted up some Hatch chilies and removed the skin, stem, and seeds. Chop one or two up and stick them in the bowl. Combine with a heated tortilla.
Sometime the raccoon in me carves the garbage food of taco bell
Sometime the garbage in me carves the raccoon meat of taco bell
I KNOW it’s not good, I KNOW my shtummy will hurt after, but I don’t remember ever trying taco bell in my life and I am so insanely curious about it. There are none nearby where I live and I don’t drive. It’s been ages that I’ve had this burning curiosity. I already decided that once I get to go I will be ordering a crunchwrap (idk the menu but this is the item I hear the most people talk about).
Imagine something that looks and tastes like dogfood but still somehow releases the happy chemicals when you eat it
Awesome, I want it
I can’t believe this. Are you Amish? Someone needs to make a documentary of taking you on a trip to Taco Bell. I would watch that. Hell Taco Bell would probably fund it for promotional purposes.
It would be like this generations Supersize Me. They could call it Grande Size Me.
Nope, just a Canadian who didn’t grow up going to many fast food chains before taco bell apparently closed all its doors in the surrounding area!
Send me your address and I’ll throw a bunch of their shit in a ziplock bag and mail it to you. Trust me it doesn’t go bad.
The crunch wrap is for taco bell fans who got tired of their tacos, don’t start there!
Get a soft shell, hard shell, and a crunch wrap and eat them in that order. You also have to get a mountain dew Baja blast as thats taco bells own flavor.
Oh wow thanks for the guidebook! I’ll try to remember that. And the other suggestions I’ve recieved.
Not sure how I’ll eat all of it 😅
If you are pretty hungry thats all doable for sure! For like an average size meal I’d do one crunchwrap or three tacos.
They let you add on pretty much whatever too so I just pick the cheapest tacos and burritos and make them supreme myself. I get a bean and rice burrito, fresco (replaces dairy and meat with pico de gallo), add fries/potatoes inside, add jalapeños, and lettuce. Comes up to like 3.50 or 4.00 for it.
All the other fast food places prices around me make taco bell look like a fantastic deal, I’ll say that.
You also gotta try one of their best menu items, the cheesy gordita crunch.
Idk, the cantina menu is actually pretty good, especially the soft taco.
Everything else is garbage tho. But it’s garbage I crave
Even the spicy cheesy potato thing? Thst for me is about the last reason I’ll go.
Taco bell is my favorite Restaurant, I wish we had them here! 😢
Only fast food place with vegan food too.
The Veggie Craving menu is the only reason I buy Taco Bell. I don’t know of any other fast food with a menu like that.
Meanwhile McDonalds dips their fries in meat flavoring, so thats fun.
Though that varies by country. It is also maybe not meat based but milk based.
America does it meat style :( not a single thing I can eat there. BK has an impossible burger
Subway’s veggie patties are really good, but not every location has them. They’re really good because they don’t even try to make them taste like meat. I’m not sure if any of their breads are vegan though.
I didn’t know they have a veggie patty, but I will try it next week.
And many items can be customized to be vegan or vegetarian with some simple substitutions or exclusions. The only problem is when the kitchen makes a mistake. Not a calamity for someone who is just trying to get a lot less meat in their diet, but a reason to be pissed when a vegan wanders into a region of reduced fat sour cream.
I don’t know why people feel the need to brag about how they don’t eat popular chain food, or about how it’s bad for you.
Posting on social media isn’t good for you, but you’d be the first person screaming “b-but the Fediverse and Linux reeee!” if someone were to call you out on it.
Let people enjoy what they want to enjoy.
See title. The heart wants what the heart wants
The sausage breakfast crunch wrap fucking slaps.
The sauce is 10/10
I’ve been trying to figure out the recipe so I can put it on everything.
Edit: I say “been trying” but in reality I only made one batch of an okay attempt at a copycat recipe. Haven’t gotten around to trying again yet.
It is great, but I prefer it with steak. And ALWAYS extra creamy jalapeño sauce!
The spicy potato tacos are my sleeper taco bell hit.
I did recently have the Baja blast gelato and it was super disappointing - basically a diluted slushie that’s frozen, no gelato/sorbet texture at all.
spicy potato soft tacos are some of the best fast food items you can get for less than $3.
…also some of the only ATP.
The Double Stacked Taco with a fire sauce packet is delicious. There’s nothing wrong with Taco Bell…on occasion…
Get that fake ass crunchwrap out of here before NY sues your ass

I just want to know what you people are doing to your fast food over in America that is giving people diarrhoea so reliably. Every time I hear people from the US talk about places like Taco Bell, someone inevitably mentions its catastrophic effect on their stomach.
Why is that accepted as normal?!
We have Taco Bell in the UK too and it’s… fine? I eat out or order food at least once a week and I could count on one hand the number of times I’ve EVER had food poisoning, but apparently over in America it’s basically guaranteed?? What in the absolute fuck is going on over there?
It’s bullshit. Anyone getting diarrhea from Taco Bell has a pre-existing condition.
Pre existing condition they might have from eating unhealthy, addictive food like Taco Bell
For what it’s worth, American food protection regulations are pretty flimsy compared to ours. IIRC they have a 10-fold incidence rate of food poisoning compared to us.
Ehhhh, it varies widely and depends on the specific foods. Often, it comes down to different choices where both are valid, but come with different tradeoffs. Such as washed vs unwashed eggs.
As for food poisoning rates, theres big differences in how the numbers are counted: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9887690/#:~:text=The US Centers for Disease, people getting FBI a year.&text=For comparison%2C in the UK,people getting FBI a year.
Probably the biggest issue in the US is the widespread availability of cheap HFCS.
Americans never eat fiber, having one bean is enough to put them down for hours.
That’s been my assumption when people talk about stomach pain and diarrhea from Taco Bell, Chipotle, Qdoba, etc. I eat plenty of Mexican food at good and bad places and have never had any issues like that. But I also eat a decent amount of beans normally.
Taco Bell here in the US probably uses much lower quality beef, and lower quality everything based on what they can get away with under food safety regulations which are probably not as strict as in other countriese. Also some people don’t tolerate the spicy hot sauce and or the grease very well.
Now I’m curious, can someone who has had both comment if the hot sauces are equally hot in the UK and US?

Taco Bell came to New Zealand just a few years ago and I haven’t tried it because of it’s American reputation, but I’m not really sure why that’s stopped me. If the consequences for eating it are as bad as people say, the whole franchise around NZ would have been shuttered already for food safety violations.
The Mexican Pizza, 5 layer burrito, and if they have it The Meximelt are all delicious and very representative of the rest of the menu.
Chalupas are good, but I’m pissed they took the Gordita off the menu. It’s the same exact thing as a Chalupa, just without frying the flatbread.
