I don’t think Lemmy attracts that crowd, but I used to moderate a fine arts Facebook group and my god… The pretentious drama wars. Like two museum directors were going to strangle each other over a Rembrandt.
Out of all the choices, I like this the most.
The pi 500 looks amazing and I plan to order!
I was somewhat impressed with the specs of the raspberry pi 4. It was fast enough to run a desktop client for a bit. But it started suffering when I tried to code my regular programs on it. I turned it into a server and called it a day.
Where the raspberry Pi 5 is much beefier. And I was getting rid of my aging chromebook too.
Popeyes is amazing. There’s a dozen in my area. Out of all the national fried chicken chains, easily the best.
KFC is disgusting. Dave’s Hot Chicken? More like Dave’s Hot garbage. Wingstop? Just stop. I’m not eating the chicken sandwich that hates gay people.
If you’re asking what the best fried chicken & fried chicken sandwich, unfortunately my city is extremely spoiled with local joints.
You know the headline is packed when there’s a literal golden gun and not a single N64 Goldeneye reference.
At its price point, it’s very underwhelming.
I also did the math and I could get an average phone (used) every year for three years before I break even. And those average phones would be more powerful with each iteration.
Unless you’re bought into eco-friendly minimal waste messaging, it’s really hard to choose fairphone.
Here’s some BS. My phone’s battery replacement cost $220. ($100 for battery, and $120 to be serviced) That was the same price as buying a refurbished version of the upgrade.
I missed the days of just replacing the battery with a screwdriver.
I started collecting all the times it happened but gave up after 3 of them.
Gestures Broadly at Everything
“This looks very interesting. What is this?”
They stared at me and the mother said “It’s a baked potato tofu.” And I was saying “Oh, interesting, a baked…what is it again?”
And she was like “A potato. tofu.”
And I was like “A ‘potato’ tofu, oh interesting. Never heard of a potatotofu, looks pretty good.”
These yokels are really trying to Speedrun anger from as many people as possible. People with guns.
I remember being in second grade and being taught all sorts of rules about pronunciation and then a few minutes later, be given edge cases.
It was the moment when I gave up saying things correctly. Herb with a hard H, phone with a hard P. City with a k noise. English is stupid.
That’s my take.
Saying things like “Why can’t I…” Like who exactly is stopping you?
Society? The fear of ridicule? Your ego?
Pathetic.
Is the savings worth it on those airlines like Spirit? Ive had friends tell me that they treat you like cattle and are outright hostile to you. And they make it like you’re inconveniencing them.
Where other airlines crack jokes and try to make you as comfortable as possible. And I’ll pay extra to avoid personality issues.
Came to share this. Glad you already did. Thank you.
Yep. I got $12 scrambled eggs with toast, and a $4 coffee.
When I went into a small town, it was $7 for everything.
That’s how my town’s diners are today.
$12 for waffles. $20 for waffles, eggs, and sausage.
Breakfast is now as expensive as dinner.
This but with GabeN
I’d do a new registrar either way.
I’ve worked at hosting companies in the past. I don’t know the timeline, but I’ve never encountered a situation where one folded this fast and just take down a client’s site over a copyright claim.
And our clients, because of the nature of the internet being the internet, a small percentage were real scumbag folks, who while the content was objectionable and disgusting, it wasn’t illegal. Which means it stayed up.
If there was something highly illegal like csam or dark web stuff and it came from a federal agency, we’d take down the site immediately.
If it was a strong letter from a legal entity that we trusted, we would pass that to the client and recommend remediation. No takedown unless there was a court order.
If it was a weak letter from a random legal entity, we lol’ed and wait for the threat of a lawsuit/court order. This was surprisingly extremely common.
So wtf is this registrar doing to shit on their clients so fast without a court order?
