I love floral because it’s full of organic shapes and often brightly colored. But I hate paisley and tie-dye, which makes no sense and I have no explanation for it.

The “double-happy” emblem of Chinese embroidery, etc. is a nice one:

I’m also fond of the taijitu:

Then there’s the long/feng illustration that you can find all over in millions of variations:

Paisley always feels like I’m looking at protists. That could be considered a plus or minus, depending.

Houndstooth is a great dark academia look, and plaid is classic. I have a lot of bad associations with camo.

Definitely scales is my favorite out of these options, and camo is my least.

Wonder how many of these would be replicable in Tunisian crochet! 👀

    herringbone is pretty great

more of a weave structure than a pattern, but it’s my pick regardless

I have a dressing gown that’s made of a cool herringbone weave, and it looks super cool from a distance — almost like it’s iridescent

Edit: I realised I was sitting on my dressing gown, so here’s a close up image. I can’t capture the cool sheen type effect on camera unfortunately

Excellent post! I love patterns, most of my clothes are bright colours and/or patterns. They’re vibrant and engaging. I’d say my favourite are polka dot and damask. Polka dot is just fun, light hearted and easy to wear. Damask is just pretty and kinda elegant. I’m not a fan of geometric I’m too girly for it

Out of these options I like plaid the best - you can take the girl outta the nineties but you can’t take the nineties outta the girl, I guess! And the one I hate the most is camouflage. I haaaaate camo.
