Is this a US thing? I tried to go to the /extensions subpage but I get routed to the main page every time.
Probably testing in us to roll out to everyone else later
This is why I love GDPR.
I’m covered by gdpr but it was active. Links maybe fixed?
In the US, I didn’t see an extensions page either.

The picture shows Jan 20th, so it may have all been changed since this was posted
Are you logged in to your Google account? It works for me when I’m logged in, but otherwise redirects.
Using a normal Google account it has a bunch of checkmarks on https://gemini.google.com/u/1/apps but this is not available on my Workspace account.
Yeah same here. My Google. Apps / g suite / workspace / whatever you call it doesn’t allow it to turn off.
I am, I even used Chrome to go to that page.
Hey everyone, I know it’s going to be a busy day for a lot of people, but Google enrolled everyone over 18 into their AI program automatically.
If you have a google account, first go to https://gemini.google.com/extensions and turn everything off.
Then you need to go to https://myactivity.google.com/product/gemini and turn off all Gemini activity tracking. You do have to do them in that order to make sure it works.
Honestly, I’m not sure how long this will last, but this should keep Gemini off your projects for a bit.
I saw this over on bluesky and figured it would be good to spread on here. It only takes a few minutes to do.
Edit: links now work again
It’s off for me by default, not sure why
Is your location in google somewhere in europe?
UK I think, although after checking from a pc, google flights, hotels, and maps were enabled instead of greyed out like on mobile
Might be a european thing, i need to check on my end
And the links no longer work.
Your second link will work if you remove the space before “gemini”. I just used it and it worked fine.
Thanks! Fixed
Extensions link just send me straight to the regular Gemini page no matter what. No way to find extensions from there
There is exactly zero chance this shit will fly in the EU.
EU customers are opted out by default.
Uuuugghhghh. Must degoogle… faster!
Alternatively, first save your data, delete it in account and then delete the account.
Yes, but that also often require migrating to other services, and I’m already getting weird looks for having an e-mail that doesn’t end in
gmail
, and often people are asking me for a “gmail account” too. Also good luck without YouTube (all respects to those who can do without).
Thanks, fyi for me I had to go to: https://gemini.google.com/apps for the first link.
Important safety tip.
Thanks, Ray.
I agree with deleting forced installations. If I was presented with the option and chose yes, is there something detrimental about installing or using Gemini? I haven’t used AI consciously yet but that is all I read about lately.
Thanks. I just turned it all off.
I guess they learned nothing from Google Buzz.
If you were ever stupid enough to use googol in the first place, then you get what you deserve.
