Thoughts?
I wish it were possible, but alas, lemmy doesn’t support that yet. The moment it does, I will be turning it on
Working on it!
https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/3889 (warning: completely untested and probably does not work)
Ah that makes sense. It’s too bad the admin tools aren’t mature enough yet to make that easier.
Have y’all considered an automod? I’ve only briefly looked at the existing lemmy bot apis but I think they’re mature enough for something like that to be relatively simple. I don’t mean to volunteer any work on y’all’s behalf but I bet it’s something a user may be willing to throw together.
If there’s a simple to install/use bot out there, that’s an option. I haven’t done any research on it tbh
Agreed. I would go as far as to say that only our users should be able to respond to posts here as well.
Yeah!
Hear hear!
👀
It’s a good idea, but it isn’t supported by Lemmy currently. Making a new instance like Blahaj.meta and only federating with Blajhaj.zone could be a work around, I don’t know if it would be worth the trouble to run a second instance for that, also posts there wouldn’t show up on the Local feed.
YES I feel like that should be a lemmy default!
Obviously I agree
Can someone explain. I’m getting confused what meta means in this way. Like are we tLking only blahaj users can post on the instance? Cause I couldn’t find a sub called blahaj.meta? Sorry 😞 I can be thick sometimes.
This is the meta community. It’s actually called main song you’ll find it at !main@lemmy.blahaj.zone. Meta is being used here to mean discussions around blahaj.zone itself. The op wants discussions about blahaj.zone that happen in this community to be limited to members of the server and exclude those from others servers.
Thanks, that explains what I was missing.
Idk too much about blahaj/where its meta is, but this is related to how recently there was a meta post about defederating hexabear, which its users kinda took over. Started even more drama of course
No, if trolls use blahaj to spam other instances those users should be able to bring it to our attention.
