Well mostly the only people using the word Nazi are calling out the Nazis. The Nazis themselves don’t claim to be Nazis. In fact the Nazis very often say Nazis don’t exist, and then go on to define a Nazi as strictly a member of the Nazi Socialist Party from ~WW2 and deny all other usages.

it’s more about what kind of news pop up in the feed overly frequently. i don’t give a shit about US elections or Musk, and I don’t want to be confronted with war permanently either. i can’t remember seeing many posts about nazis on lemmy, but i wouldn’t mind reading about them being arrested, extradited or trampled by elephants, so they may stay off the list for now

But then I’d only be viewing 5% of the content Lemmy makes available for me today.

        That’s true,
but hey, filtering and blocking out 90% of the unwanted/negative content is already way better then getting blasted by the full 100%! :D

I just want a block community button on the main page so I don’t have to open the “HUGEGAPINGASSHOLES” community up to block it (none of the images in the headliner are censored despite blurring being on).

No offense to people who are into that I just don’t want it on my front page

I agree, I’d like to be able to block a community from the main page as well. I have no issues with things like gay porn, but it would be nice to be able to block it from my feed without having to open the community.

Eh, not so much porn. There’s barely any uploads. Which in turn is why lemmy is so dead.

LADIES!!! GROW LEMMY!!! SHOW YOUR TITTIES FOR THE GOOD OF THE FEDIVERSE!!!

        1st that’s kinda weird

But also there actually is quite a bit of it already. Go to your user settings and make sure you have “Show explicit content (NSFW)” enabled.

There’s whole instances for this stuff like lemmynsfw.com. I see it in my feed (blurred, so I can use Lemmy at work lol) a lot especially if you scroll for a bit.

Spoken like someone who’s not actually used it.

Go look how often these instances upload. In most cases it’s like once a week. One picture a week. I’m supposed to bust my nut from one picture??? Per WEEK???

And some niche communities are more like “last upload 8 months ago”.

Meanwhile on reddit, you refresh the page, and theres several new posts in the 3 minutes you’ve been there.

So yes. I’m fully aware of the porn situation here…

Why don’t you do some work? Go and upload the porn you have seen today, maybe we’ll have a new post record.

At least you get rid of the spam from a clear karma farmer!

Yes people, I know you cannot see other people’s karma, but the attitude is still the same.

So you made an account *check note* about one year ago and your total contribution to the fediverse is *check note again* one post. But yes let’s get rid of the frequent poster so this place will get better by having no content. 👍

There’s no record of farmed karma, though? They’ve talked about it before, they just happen to have a lot of time on their hands at the moment and can’t do much else.

Secret lifehack I found just the other day, block the lemmit bot that reposts stuff from Reddit.

      Extentions.

In uBock Origin on the dashboard I added:

      lemmy.world##article:has-text(/elon/i)

And that blocks any federated posts and comments with that text in the body while browsing lemmy.world. It does not block poats with elon in the title but no body text, so there is probably a title-has-text but I havn’t messed around with that.

Add a new row per term you want filtered.

I then turn uBlock on and off for lemmy.world depending on whether I want it to be filtered or not, since it doesn’t normally block anything on lemmy.world.

I’m sure there is an easier extension to use, just showing one way on desktop.

I just set subscribed to my default and prune my subscriptions. I like some politics, but I get enough from what seeps through in News, so I un-subbed from politics. I will seek out meme communities that are my speed and leave the rest to their own devices. I just take a peek at “all” every once in a while, and I tend to check out links people post in comments that interest me, but for the most part I have my corner of Lemmy more or less how I want it.
