Wouldn’t it be weirder if they shoved her to the front? “We know Black people, we swear!”

It could not be more obvious that is not the point I’m making. I am pointing out how obvious and insincere the pandering bullshit that happened during the protests was.

You were actually much more obvious with this response…
I guess your point is that they should have showed some real action instead of just “signaling” they’re against racism? I’m actually not very sure what specific things they should have done as this is such a deeply rooted problem in society and not just depending on specific companies’(?) actions.

                You knew what I meant

                …no? wtf

You didn’t even really answer my main question, what you want them to do. You could have just explained your point or what you really criticize but you choose to insult me instead. I don’t have to “make you the bad guy” if you behave like that.

I’m not from the US so I didn’t feel this whole wave of protests on a cultural level, but I know some people criticizing so called “rainbow capitalism” (and it reminded me of that) and that’s just stupid.
Of course it’s better to have companies support LGBTQ+ rights, stand up for it and show pride flags, normalizing support and acceptance (and also helping people that are insecure with their own identity), even if it’s just because they want to get publicity for it, than have them hate on minorities and spread discrimination.

Maybe as that was my first association, that makes my initial perception of this different. Because when I just looked the image, I thought it to be a bit cringy but something generally good to symbolize that you’re against racism.
When I read your comment and try to get your point of view, I could imagine that you think / assume it’s very pretentious to them to pose in ridiculous seriousness and then not really do anything meaningful / essentially just doing this for the popularity. I could get such a thought, but I don’t even know who they are and couldn’t just judge whether this photo was something fake like that.

I explained very clearly what I want them to do. If they are not going to be sincere don’t even bother in the first place. When it’s fake and pandering everybody can tell. Fakeness is worse then nothing at all.

Which is, again, exactly what you’re doing. You’re being insincere. You’re an instigator. You came along and tried to turn my comment into something else so that you could show that you’re the shining example of morality.

Which you are not. You are nothing but a negative presence right now.

Which is why, to be perfectly blunt, I didn’t read all the bullshit you just posted because it’s going to be more crap. I’m done with you. Respond if you want but, to be perfectly blunt, negativity like yours is simply beneath me and I will not bother to read another word you type.

Do you think they are being insincere or do you know they are insincere ? What’s the back story of the lady kneeling? I ask just because there is a condition I had for a long time where I didn’t trust when a person was legitimately being nice to me because of how many microaggressions I had from living and working in a toxic environment. it really fucked me up for years from being able to give anyone a chance again. I linked every good deed to be an omen to 5 bad deeds and projected it at people who did something they thought was thoughtful as if I ‘was onto their game’. I think it’s called something like ptsd from cycle of abuse. Abusers do a bunch of horrible shit and then pay it all off by doing one nice thing. Like go to church after taking bribes or something. So I wonder what the nasty things this lady did when she’s not doing a photo op.

There is no way they sincerely believed I was trying to say company should come out and say we won’t do anything about racism. Zero chance in hell that original comment was sincere. Nobody could possibly read me mocking fake attempts to cash in on the BLM protests as that. It’s that simple.

And yes, every comment since then has been ‘im just trying to understand’ in a very reasonable sounding way but, considering it’s all based on an obviously sincere comment that means all of it is insincere as well.

As I’ve said from the beginning it all boils down to instigation. A completely insincere response to my original comment that was an attempt to make it sound bad for no reason other than trying to stir up shit.

edit-FUCKING LOL I JUST NOTICED THERE IS A BLACK PERSON AND THEY SHOVED HER IN THE BACK

I don’t think that’s what they were implying, but simply noting how even in a photo op for black history month, the only black person in it photo is not front and center.

Yeah, probably because they didn’t want a bunch of random black people in the picture lmfao. The dude is complaining that they had a black person in the photo at all because it’s pandering.

Now imagine if they didn’t recognize the month at all.

The person was saying how hypocritical it is that they shoved the only person if color in the back for a photo op about black history month.

I could be misreading what you’re saying, but I don’t think I am.

I mean, I’m not black… Far from it. But wouldn’t actual meaningful institutional changes be better than… Checks notes…cultural appropriation?

As I can’t judge intentions, this kind of actions seem positive and are likely to have a positive impact whether or not they are sincere. If they are not sincere they are still bending the knee.
