That’s the worst part. They’re definitely the ones least equipped to deal with an end of the world scenario. Their preferred “problem solving” technique of just throwing money around doesn’t work when supply chains, societies, and currencies are not functioning.

I’d be surprised if at least some of the people throwing money around wouldn’t be preparded for the post-dollar world.

If I had unimaginable wealth you can bet I’d be building one hell of a doomsday prepper bunker

How much food do you really think anyone could fit in a bunker? I mean, seriously. Think about that. They’re still planning on being able to resupply, I guarantee it

As a former/recovered prepper, a year’s worth of food for a single individual takes up surprisingly little space if it’s calorie-dense food.

                recovered prepper

I don’t know if anyone has told you this, but you should be proud you were able to walk away from that.

Thank you, genuinely. Once I started questioning the legitimacy of my familiy’s religion, it opened the flood gates to questioning the conspiracies we believed, and finally to the necessity of prepping for those fantastical events.

My life has improved immeasurably since getting out of that quagmire of thought.

A year isn’t much in a collapsed economy. Three years, five years isn’t much. That’s my point.

And you think these billionaire assholes are going to have the self-discipline to eat nothing but rations for the rest of their lives? Of course not.

I mentioned a year just as an example of how little space it takes for one person. With access to millions or billions of dollars, it would be trivial for them to build a large enough space to house 30 years worth of food for an entire family plus some security. And when money is no object, you can get some surprisingly luxurious freeze-dried food.

Has anyone else noticed the super-rich have been using their hoarded wealth to buy heavily-fortified mansions with bunkers, private islands, or lifeboats to space?

Fuckin’ right, we never should’ve let these assholes rebrand themselves as “boomers” when their parents nailed it. The Me Generation always was self-absorbed and ignorant of the world. Born on third thinking they hit home runs.
