It’s funny, in this twitter drama he drummed up, he refers to Twitter’s conduct guidelines about harassment as the reason that describing cis people as cis is a violation, guidelines which he himself edited to remove the line about misgendering and deadnaming trans people in a targeted way.

      He’s a massive hypocrite.

Is it really hypocritical if he designed it that way on purpose? It’s very clear at this point that he’s fine with trans people being harassed on Twitter and actually wants more of it.

It’s hypocritical in so far that there are transphobes crying about being called cis on twitter and Musk is “protecting” them using the pretense that referring to people in a way that they don’t want to be referred to is harassment and a breach of conduct. However it’s perfectly fine to misgender and harass trans people.

Obviously he’s created this environment intentionally, but it’s still hypocrisy for him to pretend he has some commitment to preventing harassment.

I think this is a pretty common approach to “free speech” by people who don’t really understand what censorship is, and/or are not capable of empathizing with others. It just never occurs to them that when you claim free speech as a basic right, that means that other people also get to speak. It would be funny if it didn’t create so much harm.
