Google is not entitled to my personal banking information or any other PII! WTF if I go to a store and want to buy I will.
you seem to be fundamentally misunderstanding what this dialog is saying
I hadn’t tried this yet despite using GrapheneOS and F-Droid.
Seamless, saw all my preexistent apps and updates went fine under anonymous login.
GrapheneOS is weird. It’s advertised as “privacy- and security-focused” but in reality it’s a great OS for everyone, it’s like a pure version of Android without being too tied to Apple or Google. You can use the Play Store if you have an account, or Aurora if you don’t want one, and F-Droid is there for the weird stuff.
And what made me switch, it has fucking Android Auto to listen to the music in my car. It’s a bit tied to Google but it’s a huge bonus for me. And for work applications, the Google account is still available but sandboxed.
It’s great so long as you can either stomach giving google money for a Pixel or buying 2nd hand yeah.
“Let’s complete your account setup”
Shut up! It’s completed!
Just rub your genitals on the detector until the “fingerprint” is done.
Additional benefit when the cops try to force you to unlock it you get a free handy.
Google prompts me to add a payment method EVERY TIME i try to install any app (including free apps, which are the only ones i install tbh), fucking hate it.
I tried to get something on iPhone once, added credit to my account using one of those vouchers you can get from the store. I was able to add the credit, but it refused to allow me to purchase anything without adding payment details.
Enable it then go: play store settings > purchase verification settings > switch the toggle for biometrics off again.
Viola, no more prompts to enable it.
Yeah but now they don’t need me anymore. Its like letting the leopard eat my face because then it will leave me alone.
Why do you even have a phone if you’re this paranoid about technology?
I like technology. I don’t like it used to abuse my privacy.
You’re SoL then if you use a smartphone in any capacity.
