He got the fascist part right.
The theocracy though, that he got wrong. Our leaders only pay lip service to God: their true drive is money.
This isn’t a theocracy: it’s a broligarchy.
The laws banning abortion and porn are directly based on the Christian ideology of these people. It may not be your version and they may be hypocrites, but it’s still theocracy.
Every time a christian does something wrong, their christianity card gets revoked. Every other group has to collectively bare the responsibilities of a very few.
You are going to see a rise of Dominionism in action over the next 4+ years. As long as Dominionism isn’t in direct opposition to the oligarchy, it will continue to rise. See project 2025, prayer in schools, mandatory displays of the ten commandments, federal money going to religious schools, churches endorsing the republican party and not losing their tax-exempt statuses, etc…
No. It’s steering toward theocracy. Thanks, Jerry fucking Falwell - may you rest in piss. The whole horror of what the US is living in now is thanks to that one greedy fuck. He was potentially going to lose money over desegregation because of properties he owned. His bright idea? Get evangelical Christians involved. It worked. This whole thing cascades into modern conservatism. Before Falwell got involved, most people considered abortion to be a Catholic issue. This fuck decided that involving evangelicals would once again make him money, so he used them. This is just the most blatant example of how things have gone. Laws have been written based on the bible as a sole source for at least 60 years, and the people involved thoroughly believe that it is the only acceptable moral or ethical code. The amount of laws that attempt to legally enforce a protestant idea of Christianity every day is insane. Thanks, Jerry, for sending the US down the path of Theocracy. We’re nearly there - maybe another three years!

Theocrats are rarely true believers. We’re headed towards the mammonite theocracy

Christian Zionism is in rude health in the US.

One might argue theocracy was always a grift.
