You are probably right. There was plenty of “technobable trope” solutions in TNG, but less “MORE POWER” than most.
I liked how in Voyager The Captain told the chief engineer to make something happen in half the estimate she gave and the engineer replied “No. If I say it’s going to take 3 days, then that’s how long we need. I don’t fluff my estimates”.
