Yeah, I would prefer if this place just pre-emptively defederates Threads. Since while unlikely to be able to really view lemmy posts properly, I still rather it not be able to be seen at all. I dont want them to embrace extend extinguish and so need to pre-emptively prevent that.

Im genuinely terrified. Im one of the organizers at my uni’s pride group, and we’ve already seen an increase of hate on campus last year (including some people entering our own space and harassing a member). One of the gender studies classes at my school already had to move online this past term due to threats.

Seeing this happen at a fellow canadian university, makes me terrified that we will have a violent hate crime attack on our campus. Its terrifying. Just, trying to remain strong for our community.

Dalhousie Community Center, while not a park, is often very quiet on the weekends and is a great spot to get back into it. The parking lot is relatively smooth, and theres some space behind the Jr High there to bike too. Good for a quick catch up if ya dont find a proper park spot to practice.

Decided to move away from Reddit thanks to all the issues with the company and their behaviour with the api, and then response afterwards to the blackout. Honestly much loving it here, though yeah shame for the smaller scale here. But I mean, might get some degree of a network overtime. Just put up some fliers or smth around campus i guess ahah

Yeah at this point Im actually finding myself enjoying myself more here. It sucks not having some of the fandom communities I was following but otherwise its been much better for my focus and mental health. I certainly am sticking around now no matter what happens.
