Strawberryto Linux@lemmy.world•Questions about Distros and Using Linux Before I SwitchEnglish3·13 days agoThere’s a community-packaged flatpak for ProtonVPN, you should be able to get it from the software center with the click of a button. The app is very barebones, though, compared to the windows one. But it works.
I might also throw in a distro reccommendation: Fedora Kinoite. It’s an atomic distribution, meaning updates to the distro are applied all at once and the previous version before the update is still available at boot if something goes wrong. Very hard to mess up your installation that way. It uses KDE Plasma which has that windows-ish taskbar, and allows for mouse cursor customization. Updating the OS is done seamlessly through the software center. Applications are also installed through the software manager. If you want to learn to use the terminal and terminal-based applicications, it provides a tool called toolbx which basically lets you do all your terminal things in a container which you can easily replace if you mess something up.

I learned this the cold way when I went camping. It was hot so I didn’t think it would get so cold at night but I brought a blanket and tried to put it beneath me in the hammock just in case. I figured that would be warmer than on top of me, but it was far more effective above me despite the wind on my back. It also really wanted to slide into a clump
If there are trees, a hammock provides a nice small sleeping environment that is isolated from other sleepers in tents

Strawberryto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you don't have a car to get to a physical store, where (what websites) do you get your electronics?2·17 days agoDepends on the electronics. Computer components I try to get from their manufacturers or an online shop like bhphotovideo. Cables I get from reputable suppliers with certifications, from their online shops. Laptops, pre-built computers, etc. i would just get secondhand.
I thought they removed SMS so as to not give the impression that SMS is at all private or secure
That’s also why coffee looks so high. But a kg of coffee makes around 75 cups of coffee while a kg of beef is just 2000-3000 kcals
