Apologies for posting in the home cooking community, but:
All the community subscription forms at https://vegantheoryclub.org/communities redirect to this community! Therefore, unless I’m missing something, no other community on the instance can become federated the normal user-friendly way! I tested this with multiple instance urls and multiple communities.

Update: I can confirm this is true, when you use that site to fetch the community it always posts back to homecooks which is also community 01, I have no idea how I could fix this
In the mean time to subscribe to any of our communities use the search button on your instance and search for !communityname@vegantheoryclub.org and you can subscribe that way.
edit: Actually its true for EVERY lemmy server on 0.19.8, on walledgarden.xyz it goes to weedtime, on lemmy.ml it goes to memes, I think that all these comms are 01 in the database.

That’s strange. The links work normally for me from my VTC alt account and from WG.
Actually walledgarden has the same issue, I just confirmed it. When you use the subscribe button when you are logged out it always fetches weedtime
I see. I’m confused as to why anyone would ever try to subscribe this way, but whatever I guess. At least it’s minor.

Thanks for letting me know, I will see what I can do but right now and am not sure about the community subscription forms. I have an account on lemmy.zip or another instance and was able to search !art@vegantheoryclub.org and subscribe which wasn’t previously federated. Are you saying if I’m logged out I can subscribe right from the communities tab?
