Whoa whoa whoa mad max 1 is the best of the three. Sure, the sequels have crazier worldbuilding and fancier visuals but the first is tight, well shot, and tells a good story well.

Okay, but please explain to me how you intend for students to magically become more willing to learn, or citizens more willing to vote. You fight the battles you can, you don’t just blame the world or people for being the way that they are. Sure, as an individual, you can do better. Maybe eben influence those around you. Now what about the millions of others who have to change their behavior in order to enact change on the country-wide scale? To fight at that scale you have to be in a position of power, and the only people who are in those positions of power in the US who aren’t republicans are democrats. The responsibility lies with the democrats to do whatever it takes to improve voter turnout or fix problems because nobody else has the means and isn’t a republican (and good luck trying to convince them to be less shit). Blaming the people just makes them pissed at you and gets you nowhere.
Look blaming the democrats is done not because the republicans aren’t to blame, but because blaming them is sort of pointless. It’s like blaming terrorists for the shit they do. Yes, it’s their fault. Yes, they’re morally reprehensible. So what? Are you going to spend time trying to come up with detailed arguments for what they could’ve done better? No, you look to the material conditions, people, and organizations responsible for fighting them, and for making sure people aren’t desperate enough to join them, because their job at least in theory is to do better. I blame the democrats because I believe they could have done better. I do not have even that small grain of hope when it comes to the republicans.
I mean iunno about subs but for instances hexbear is largely known as the tankie instance. For the other kind of extreme leftists, the anarchists seem much more spread out even than they were back on reddit
Okay but ice cars tend to catch fire while running or fueling. EV’s are the same, it’s just they tend to fuel at home and possibly inside of a flammable structure while completely unnattended. I don’t honestly know the actual fire risk of an EV and honestly I doubt there’s a lot of good data that can be found with the amount of time i’d be willing to invest, what with EV companies wanting to downplay and any and every oil-related industry wanting to exaggerate.
Fascists are fascists no matter what ideology they espouse
tbh like, have you tried any other social media? lemmy’s honestly pretty cool for anarchists comparatively, i suppose except for the fact that it’s too small to spend all your tine in explicitly anarchist spaces. Yeah it’s not amazing but that’s pretty nuch inevitable with any large and relatively diverse group of people
Marxist-leninist
Okay fuck ai “art” but why you gotta do motorsport dirty, that shit requires skill, physical fitness, shitloads of practice, and raw talent
Lol. Neural networks are useful for signal processing, that’s so bold an innovative that nobody thought of it until 1943 when the first neural network was designed. That’s not to downplay the efforts of the people who made this happen but this article is acting like these massively useful ML applications like signal processing wouldn’t be possible without the generative AI for consumers and businesses that is responsible for these absurd power requirements and huge data centers, and that’s just patently false.
Nobody mentioning it got the captcha wrong? That’s a p not a P which while admittedly a tiny mistake would still be counted as a fail
Goddamn the “any critique of a democrat means you’re a trump supporting russian bot” crowd really is out in force here. Majorly supporting Keystone XL, supporting the violent police response to the George Floys protests, and supporting the genocidal regime of Israel are all reprehensible things and it is a joke that they’re trying to paint this man as a progressive.
lmao the update is basically just: yeah the headline was total bs the crew did not refuse, the airline cancelled for “security reasons”
Your OS being the cause of massive problems running common programs should not be something you have to have the skills to fix in the first place. And distro issue? How the hell are you even supposed to pick a distro when if you ask 10 linux users what distro you should use you’ll get 11 different answers? Sure, you could just try them all, but it takes a long time to evaluate an OS, plus just making sure that all the programs you want to run don’t just shit themselves.
Alright so your argument about free will only really adds up if you are an absolutist about free will. Imagine a perfect utopian paradise of a world. All are free to do whatever they want so long as it is not “evil.” Your definition of evil can vary but presumably an omniscient god would have a pretty good idea of what that means. Rhe mwans of prevention xouls be literally anything, because y’know omnipotent and omniscient, including just creating people that simply do not have the capacity for evil. Would the people in that world not have free will? Just because there are some things they cannot do does not mean that in my eye. I can’t fly or bite my own finger off or perceive and manipulate the fabric of the universe, does that mean I don’t have free will? IMO the only way your position here is logically consistant is if you do take the absolutist position that in order to have free will you must be omnipotent yourself, otherwise there will always be things you cannot do.
My experience as someone who bounced off a couple souls games, playwd Sekiro, and then played Elden Ring: Sekiro is not harder, and IMO most people who say it is come from a place of having gotten used to more traditional soulsborne combat. If you’re struggling in Sekiro my main tips are to go somewhere else for a while, or just that you can straight up ignore most enemies in the game without consequences.
I’m not the OP of that comment nor did I express any opinion on the matter but fuck it let’s do this. Your position is, if I understand it correctly, that people who think that a politician, a group of people famous for making empty promises and gestures especially when running for office, might be making empty promises and should not be lauded for what may just be paying lip service to a hot-button issue, are “parroting nonsense” and “basically an AI” to you. I understand that there are constant proven efforts to attempt to convince democratic voters not to vote, but I think that freaking out over any critique of the democratic candidate is frankly unhealthy for both this platform and for democracy at large. I know the stakes for this election, I was going to vote for Biden and I am going to vote for Harris, but just because we live under a fucked up two-party system and we have to fall in line when it comes to voting doesn’t mean we have to fall in line for the dogma as well.
It’s a tu-144 i think, not a concorde
