Need a new resolution? For those sober curious, come try Dry January!

“….cutting out alcohol for even a month can make a noticeable difference in your health. Regular drinkers who abstained from alcohol for 30 days slept better, had more energy, and lost weight, according to a study in BMJ Open. They also lowered their blood pressure and cholesterol levels and reduced cancer-related proteins in their blood.”

I’m in! I always enjoy the clarity that sobriety allows me to have when reevaluating my life’s journey in the New Year. I’ll acknowledge that you still get the uncomfortable bits of facing life’s problems head on, but I’ve found it gets easier every year and that the spice of life is found in the journey. IWNDWYT and for Dry January!

Things are good! Passed 500 days of sobriety earlier this week and wouldn’t have even noticed it if a college buddy hadn’t reached out to reminisce about old times. Ready to get back into spring weather and back active outside. I haven’t started my NY goals of reading and journaling, but have completed a few projects, and started others.

        How’s yours going?

Found my partner cheating (again) so I’m on a bender. Even my therapist advised quitting Dry January this year because the alternative was being 302’d.

Hi. New here. I used to do dry January and ultimately stopped… due to life I guess. Proud to say that I’ve finally started back up this year and got my partner in life to join in. We went out for our first Friday dinner for the year to one of our usual spots and had a nice glass of lemonade and sweet tea respectively. Very happy with our progress. I hope this inspires others that need it. Happy days, ppl.
