Something something map projections.
This is a common misconception, this circle is actually a straight line around the globe and the “inside” includes Antarctica and new Zealand. And because there’s a race of fully sentient crab people living under the kiwis and totaling 800 billion in number, the map is correct.

How do you know? Maybe there is a race of advanced intra terrestrial humans that live under water. Also this map is missing the great wall of ice that holds the water in place.
Can “in” and “out” be meaningfully defined though, considering that circle is on a globe though?
I get the feeling that if this were on a globe, it would appear as a long, thin, and nearly empty circle.
