      Fish aren’t meat as far as dietary rules go for the Abrahamic faiths.

        I am pretty sure that’s only Catholicism (possibly Orthodox Judaism?), and the reason is cold-blooded animals literally were not considered to be meat, so they are ok to eat during times that meat is prohibited.
