RIGA, May 15 (Reuters) - The Estonian Navy said it attempted on Tuesday to detain a Russia-bound oil tanker under sanction by Britain, saying it sailed illegally without a flag, but did not board it when it refused to cooperate, instead escorting it to Russian waters.
Does anyone know the size of that Russian “shadow fleet”?
Ft did a good article on it https://www.ft.com/content/b9dee3f3-c2f8-4aa1-b0d9-d207f815b6e5 Around 400 ships
At this point, the NATO should send a fleet of disguised ships with no flags and military personnel with no identification as pirates to capture the ships, steal whatever they transport, kill people on board and sink them later. Then we call them pirates and “fight” them with no success.
We could just outsource the contracts to private
eercompanies. If that happens. Russia will just escort the ships directly.
I don’t think you’re familiar with Russian navy. They lost a ship to a country without a real navy.
Cool, that burns resources they don’t have spare, and pressures maintenance for resources that aren’t in the war. Or they don’t maintain and they sink. Win win.
I wonder what would’ve happened if they sank that mf
…or sent it on a special undersea operation
Might be an environmental disaster especially if they are loaded
every larger ship sinking is an environmental disaster if for nothing else just the fuel it has stored.
