James McAvoy for me. X-Men first Class, Split, Speak No Evil, even Victor Frankenstein. If MCavoy’s name is attached to it, I’m probably going to see it. Charlize Theron is next. Mad Max: Fury road, Monster, and Kubo. Old guard… she acted her heart out, but it was okay in the end. (First post)

    John Cleese

    Charlize Theron

Lately Millie Bobbie Brown it seems. Even her Holmes stuff is fun.

    Kurt Russell

I don’t watch many movies at all, too fidgety.

But if I see Tim Curry, I’m paying attention.

    Jared Harris

He’s been in some real stinkers, but chances are if he shows up, you’re in for a good time.

Daniel Day Lewis did for so long. Nobody does today really and I go to 2 movies a week and watch 5 at home. I am kind of keeping an eye on and encouraged by Bill Skarsgard, David Dastmalcian, Jack Quade, Michael B Jordan and Lewis Pullman…

My mom’s answer would be Walton Goggins, but I’d have to agree cause man that guy can change characters of a dime. From his crazy almost feral killer character from American Ultra, to his character from The Unicorn, to Vice Principals, to Fallout, the guy is damn near a chameleon.

      The Unicorn

Goggins as a trans woman in Sons of Anarchy stole the show even though this role had a total of like 3 minutes spread around in several episodes… the guy is awesome

Actors who always commit to their roles! It’s always a pleasure to see them, especially when you see them go from very serious to comedy in various parts. Tom Hanks was fantastic in the 80s when he was comedy but he seems to do more serious roles since then. Also why Saturday Night Live skits can be awesome when such actors are guest starting.

There aren’t too many actors that will pull my interest just based on their involvement. Sam Rockwell, Gary Oldman and Philip Seymour Hoffman (RIP) are the first that come to mind but I’m sure there are more. Does Tom Waites count?

I would’ve never expected to say this 17 years ago (don’t linger on that detail too long), but Robert Pattinson

If you’ve never watched The Rover, I would highly recommend it. Guy Pearce is excellent in it, but Pattinson’s performance really hit home that he can truly act.

I did. I’ll have to check, but I think I’ve seen a fair amount of his post-twilight films. Like Radcliffe, he generally picks interesting projects, if nothing else

Cosmopolis, Good Time, High Life, and ofc The Lighthouse being some of them

        Edit: spelling

Ah, the stigma and hatred around newly released fantasy romcoms targeted to women. Also the reinvention of the vampire that most people would probably wish had stayed in an obscure YA novel rather than become cinematic history.

I was always team Wolf but I developed an interest in real vampire culture because of Twilight.

Did you ever watch Remember Me? Part of me wishes I hadn’t. The unnecessary end hits like a wrecking ball

I liked Twilight 2, actually. Just happened to see it in the right moment that it worked for me. Never watched the rest of the series though

Dude, seriously. For the longest time I only knew him as the vampire in Twilight (which I’d never even seen) and wrote him off immediately. Then I saw him in High Life and was like ‘Oh wait a minute, this guy is pretty good actually’. I even liked him in Batman. I’m glad he’s outgrowing his Twilight association.

My teeth are also kinda janky, so this is probably one of my favorite videos by anyone ever. I love the “your teeth are air-cooled” line too.

These days, it’s Alan Tudyk for me. For movies and tv shows.

He has been in some of the most bizarre and ridiculous concepts, but he still always makes them a delight to watch, even as a supporting character.

I haven’t been disappointed yet, even if it’s bound to happen eventually.

My wife and I got into Resident Alien because of him. Dollhouse was the first thing I saw him in, so yeah he likes bizarre and ridiculous would be correct. I love his comedy in Resident Alien.

Viola Davis, Elizabeth Olsen, Jodie Foster

I’ll watch anything with Viola Davis. She tricked me into watching Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. It’s a great movie and she played the role really well, but that was a rough movie to watch.
