Sourdough bread, I love fresh sourdough :3
Pink cupcakes with green frosting. The color scheme began when we made strawberry cupcakes and our toddler asked to make the frosting green “like a leaf” so the whole cupcake looked like a strawberry. Now regardless of the flavors, he always wants those colors. I think it’s great 🤣
Generally speaking in our house my husband does the baking and I do more of the fancy cooking. It makes sense as he’s an analyst and I’m a lot more free form haha. That being said, since we got a bread machine I’ve been making bread more, it’s just too easy and comes out so good.
If I had to bake something right now though, I’d make a rhubarb crisp. Especially as that’s literally something I’m doing today since we have so much rhubarb! Hmm, maybe rhubarb and blueberry…
I’ve toyed with a bread machine but I think I can’t be trusted, I’ll just end up eating bread all day. Home baked bread is just too good!
That’s how we feel about those countertop deep fryers/air fryers. No good can come of that. As for the bread machine, we just make regular sandwich bread mostly. And the best part of it is that it’s a really nice (expensive!) Japanese one, and I got it at the thrift store for 8 bucks!
Good find!
My top three faves are sourdough bread, layer cake, and macarons. Depends on how much time I have and who I’m trying to impress. I’ve finally gotten decent at bread. I can make a cake that tastes great but can’t decorate better than a 6 year old. I’m surprisingly good at making macarons.
Does pizza count? I’m going to start a new batch of dough today for dinner tomorrow.
Yes absolutely! Plus pizza can only be a good thing
Banana bread if I have ripe bananas! It is easy, delicious, and makes the house smell wonderful.
Yep! I make mine with chocolate chips and pecans and add cinnamon nutmeg and cloves
And keeps beautifully
Myself, because I’m bad at cooking and good at getting high. XP
Pizza! I have a pizza oven and I love a freshly thrown base. I make a sourdough base and its just delish.
I love baking.
My next project is the pink cake from the stardew valley cookbook.
Pink is always good! Have you made much from the starview valley book?
Nope! To be honest there’s not that many recipes that interest me in it.
Yep that’s why I don’t buy recipe books anymore! I’d only use a couple

Apple pie! My favourite recipe uses lard, of all things. Really delicious and it works as long as there are no vegetarians. ☺️
Would you be willing to share the recipe? I have made them a few times for holidays and I find that I just can’t compete with store bought. I like most my other pies more than store bought pies but apple is just so particular.
Glad to share! I’ve been using this recipe for over a decade. :) Here it is: https://www.cooks.com/recipe/b35cq61x/holiday-apple-pie-1968.html
Apple pie can only be a good thing
Chocolate peppermint crinkle cookies. People love them. They look cool because they’re a crinkle cookie. They’re ready. They have a fun story about how I fond the recipe. Perfect cookie to give to people. If they don’t get eaten in a day, they stay soft for at least two days instead of hard rocks like a lot of cookies.
Sounds like there are literally no down sides to this cookie
They’re a fridge cookie, and a shaped cookie, so if you like cookies not taking awhile to firm up, or hate shaping cookies in your hands and getting a bit messy, they are not the cookie for you!
Those are small prices to pay for cookies
I tend to avoid baking and im being quite hard on myself in regards to a diet atm so not really keen on eating carbs and sugar…
When I do bake its normally a victoria sponge, i’ve made a few and not messed them up too badly so far.
So… Someday i learned that you can make cookie stamps with a 3D printer very easily just from pictures and i had to promote something about electronics at work. So i made elektronic-circuit-looking cookies to luer colleagues in the lab. They were of course awesome
One day a colleague dumped his badge into his coffee mug that was standing on the table because his badge used to be on a necklace and he was bending over to connet a monitor for presenting. Some time later i thought it would be hella funny to make him a bunch of rectangular badge-sizes cookies that looked exactly like his badge, except they said: “badge to dip into coffee” He didn’t even get the joke at first. He was just speecless i made cookies with his face. Any way, after getting the joke he showed them to everyone in the office that stepped by his desk.
Also when organizig workshops i once made the best cherry cheesecake that i ever made and i don’t think i will ever make a better one. I often times think about it.
At one point i decided to become a cakefluencer and documented the process of making a rainbowcake. It tasted really disgusting because of all the coloring i was using. It looked really cool though. The colleagues at work where nice enough to say they liked it, maybe they really did. I don’t know. (I did not become a famous cakefluencer) Edit: the color sections were also off
Nowadays i work for a more uptight company, so no fun cookie stuff anymore. But i will have my last day next week, so i will bring cake on friday. I will attempt to make mango cheesecake because i’ve always wanted to try that. And also some vegan cake with nuts or something.
I will add some pictures later if i don’t forget and also english is obviously my second language.
Edit: added pictures
Whoa, so you printed out the chocolate badges with a 3D printer? Or did you make some sort of special mold? Those are super cool!
Also, I like your rainbow cake. Rainbow cakes always make me think of good times in early summer, when everything is blooming and warm :)
I printed the mold with a 3D printer and pressed them upside down into the dough (the pictures you use have to be mirrored then). You can create these molds very easily in cura (the 3D-print-prepping software).
The dough should have very little, best no baking soda, so the pictures don’t get blurry. Before pressing the mold into the dough it should be covered with plenty of flour. This helps with separating because the 3D surfaces are usually pretty rough. First dip into flour, tap of the access and then dip into the rolled out dough.
For the topping i used standard cookie topping colour. But made it thinner by adding water. This makes it flow better into the gaps. I let the access topping drip off and scrape it away from the high regions of the cookie. This gives better contrast and because the way the molds are created it makes the picture look more 3D.
You are innovating in cookie design. That is super cool, thank you for the advice! :)
Those are great stories! And yes we’d love to see cake porn 😍
Addes some pictures :)
I love the badge and circuit board they’re so clever and personal!! I’d be so happy if someone did that to me. It’s a really thoughtful idea. The cherry cheesecake is 😍😍😍😍😍
I like grinding my own flour then using it to make bread! I lt makes my house smell so good.
