A small portable steam cleaner will handle puke stains pretty well. Good tool to have if you’ve got pets, i borrow one from family if i need one (no pets of my own)

Carpet with pets is like racing without a harness. It will work for a while.

Carpet is disgusting anyways. Might as well replace it.
