There are people that seriously think like this
How does someone’s entire conception of video games still involve quarters in (after) 2023. Thats honestly insane to me. Like how do you let that person create any type of art, let alone a tv show based off of a video game, if they have that little awareness of the world around them. Like ehst did this guy do before this. “We want you to make a commercial for our new operating system. ‘Oh computers, thats easy. Most computers are pretty simple. You feed in a punch card and you can make the computer do things. MacOS XV changed all that, it doesnt even need punch cards.’”’
It’s boomer cringe manifest.
That must mean anon also listens to Luigi
We pray to Luigi
Hallowed be thy name. 🙏🏻
A lot of games have great music. Instead of calling it video game music, which absolutely invites people to say stupid shit, just say you generally listen to atmospheric soundtracks.
Growing up in small town east Texas taught me to create euphemisms for all kinds of fun shit.
> sister starts humming the Super Mario overworld theme
> whole family joins in
> OP sings too, cause why not, its a good song
> family_moment.jpegThe rare good ending. Not seen very often on greentexts
It’s really ironic that a lot of people equate game soundtracks with some sort of “kid music” or something that isn’t “real music”.
Most of UT2004’s OST could be used on a rave and nobody would know any better.
Try being into board games. “Oh like Monopoly” NO NOT LIKE A 100 YEAR OLD GAME INTENTIONALLY DESIGNED NOT TO BE FUN AS A CRITICISM OF CAPITALISM. There have been new board games made in the last century and they’re actually fun.
I wish Catan was the go-to boardgame instead of Monopoly.
Ticket to Ride I think is a little better than Catan and just as (or more) newbie friendly.
Personally, I’ve become a huge fan of Blokus and have been showing it to people every chance I get. Responses have been very positive.
I might get a trigon version so it plays nicely with 3 people.
I hate Catan on the same level as Monopoly.
Though my favourite game is Unfathomable, so what do I know.
I’m already there 😅
Even worse, the Brazilian version, Banco Imobiliário, which is what “everyone played” here, was an even worse game than Monopoly.
UT music made me remind that electronic music can be good in the times when my main exposure for such music were really bad trance songs, but which had (awful) Hungarian lyrics, thus was a “must listen to” in my country.
I use doom OST to work out.
The doom OST are absolute bangers. Can’t argue with that.
Doom 2016, or Doom dot matrix style?
Doom 2016 genesis sound engine crushed.

There’s this music genre in Brazil called funk (different to the US funk from the 70), and they’re pretty experimental on what they mix in and they use a lot of chip tune and other video games songs mixed. One of those DJs (DJ Bassan) regularly mix in donkey Kong or Chrono Trigger OST in the middle of her sets.
I’d personally throw the Frostpunk OST in their face and see how they react.
Especially The City Must Survive.

This song is, and always will be a massive banger.
Meh just own it… Fuck yeah I listen to Mario, have you ever heard the Super Mario Bros. 2 music? Shit is off the chain.
There’s a reason it’s won game of the year so many years in a row.
I mean, it is a good zing, mate. sometimes, ya just have to eat shit.
Fuck that. This lil bitch is talking shit about Koji Kondo. I won’t stand for that bullshit. Motherfucker needs to get stomped on Mario-style.
Next time just come out with that: “mostly the Mario theme over and over.”
Na na~ nanananana~ na~ na~ na, Katamari Damashii
If you started with the beatboxed version at that family table, I would back you up with the bzzchek budda bucheck sounds. Greentext’s family doesn’t know the classics.
*someone brings out a fucking trumpet from under the table*
*everyone else starts chirping, doo doodo do doo doo!*
*neighbour leans in the window and starts making deep Jubbajubbadzabajzaba sounds*-Hey!-
“Actually I prefer the Donkey Kong Country 1-3 OSTs.”
I mean, have they heard Mario Odyssey’s music? It’s really good!
Anon’s favourite music genre:
Sometimes when it’s quiet and I get a moment to sit, ponder, and allow myself to be bored, I’ll hear either The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time title theme song or, if I’m feeling energised, I’ll hear the opening theme for a new game start in Super Mario 64 (where Lakitu is flying around with the camera and Mario jumps out of the warp pipe).
Ocarina of Time soundtrack lives in my head rent free too. For me, its usually Lost Woods, everyone who played remembers the tune even if they don’t know the name.
Mega Man 2 OST is an incredible work of art.
My 2yo goes fucking nuts when Bobomb battle field plays, particularly the Hang onto your Hat remix album. Whole family dancing, kids spinning around, good times had by all.
Ok but Mario slaps so I wouldn’t be offended at all if someone suggested that. Dire Dire Docks, Gusty Garden Galaxy, Super Mario Bros 3 athletic theme? Yes please
Throw Steam Gardens on there too.
Yes steam gardens is great. Such a funky tune!
