Right, unfortunately it’s not Canadians job to make sure every single American they interact is “one of the good ones.”

It’s an unfortunate guilt by association, but many, many, many of us Americans exhibit all of those qualities: arrogance, lack of respect for others, blatant ignoring of rules and agreements. Just generally being an asshole bully.

I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but I’m not quite convinced this was a legitimate victory. He mumbled something about “Elon knowing voting machine numbers” or some such on inauguration day. He’s letting Elon’s kid tell him to STFU on camera and is just sitting there taking it? Nah, something doesn’t add up to me.

Nah, it’s some hatred of Americans too.

Trump isn’t some dude who took power in a coup, he was elected by a pretty decisive margin. The house and senate are also GOP and were elected by a majority. And, this isn’t just about Trump. I clearly remember how the US verbally attacked Canada under George Bush Jr. too, because even though Canada was willing to send soldiers to fight and die alongside US soldiers in Afghanistan, it wasn’t willing to go on an adventure in Iraq too.

This is who the US is now. Some dude posting on social media that “hey, it’s not all of us” or “this isn’t who we are” or whatever is empty. If you’re out in the streets, day after day, then sure, I’ll respect that effort. But, really, the US is now the Nazi Bar, and I don’t like Nazis.

I just hope that y’all understand that those of us trying to flee are on your side 🥲

It’s the ones who want to stay behind that you should be worried about

I don’t think there’s a solution that both clears out the far-right and leaves this country intact. (And in my opinion, it should probably be like five distinct countries)

Tangent:

Trump was supposed to win, or at least pence was supposed to make it happen. The timing of the convoy was not accidental. There was an intent by some of the core organizers to overthrow our gov. The unity and synchronicity of the messages from figures in the us, and Russia, were also not accidental.

If anyone was paying any attention during the convoy, none of this annexing business should come as a surprise.

Sadly, I’m pretty certain some of our politicians and defense and intelligence type folk knew then, know now, and intend to do nothing to stop it, and likely assist it.

People would be making Molotovs in their kitchens immediately.

You would also have partisans in the US that would help Canada.

As well they should be. I’m furious about it even though I know it’s absolute bullshit.

If he wants to rename bodies of water to distract people from the real purpose of his occupation of the White House, fine-

And the US military is absolute garbage at fighting guerillas

This is why it’s very evident that it’s a distraction from the grift.

You’re dreaming if you think NATO minus the US would fight the US if the US invaded Canada. There would be some excuse made, or some technicality found.

As for becoming states, what’s much more likely is that the US would make Canada a territory like American Samoa: no electoral college votes, no senators, no congressional representatives, not even US citizenship.

That would be a big disadvantage to his party in congress.

Would it though?

Most of the western provinces are very conservative. They’ll just gerrymander everything to give the more liberal sections one or two states and then another 12 states worth of senators and reps that are purely Nazi.

That is a risk that I am willing to take.
