    Not 100% sure but I figured it was because so many people live in NJ and commute to NYC every morning, so this new congestion charge might get people to leave NJ for somewhere with better train/transit options

      Maybe? I don’t know if $9 fee (or just a switch to public transport) is enough for someone who works in Manhattan to move, but I guess it’s possible.

      I think it might have something to do with the revenue sharing of all of the alternate means of crossing the river, with NYC’s MTA getting the bulk of it? Again, could be wrong.
