I just read Tender is the Night, by Fitzgerald. I made myself finish it because it is a classic, a “masterpiece.” I hated it. It was boring and tedious and all the characters were boring and tedious. Can anyone tell me why books like this got such acclaim?
I remember at least a third of that book is drawn-out historical descriptions of pointless things. Incredibly boring book overall.
