I would guesstimate thats about 3 hours of trying. Next goal is to land properly and to do it fakie without holding the rail
For some reason I never considered using a railing to figure those out. That’s a great idea and in hindsight it should’ve been obvious to me. I was trying shove-its for a while and finally sort-of landed one, but I haven’t really been on a regular skateboard since then, just longboards.
Full honesty: the person in the background asked me why i wasnt training with the railing xD I also didnt think of that myself. but it helped me getting over the fear of jumping back onto the board.
This is awesome. Gotta be honest. My first instinct was that you have to take the fall because that’s how I learned to overcome the fear.
But I think that instinct was wrong, and I’m gonna set up something like this for my son. There is plenty of time to deal with the fall after you get the swing of things.
i think i am not the norm tho, since i am a bit older than most beginner skaters. 20 years ago i might had less fear of falling ^^
But i think everyone has their own learning style. Best wishes for your son!
I know nothing about skateboarding and never could get an ollie down but way to go!
