      Well, I’m pretty sure they’re not yellow jackets. Those and bald faced hornets are ones to fear around here. Other wasps and bees are usually pretty chill in comparison. Fortunately, there’s no danger to me in squishing some pupae; just yucky.

        I’m almost positive that those are from mud daubers. Inside the pots there are not only pupae but also paralised spiders for the young ones to snack on.

        I’ve seen bumblebee species that build little clay pots like that in a nest. Either way, they are usually friends and not foes.
