Who cares about snubbing Harris? That’s just nonsense. We vote because the policies matter, not because a human being we never met would feel bad if she lost.

    “1000 year conflict”

Ok there’s no way this 2 month old OP isn’t a party propagandist or something with how they’re again shitting on anyone to the left of [insert Dem figurehead for current year’s election here]. Yeah man, I feel so heard now. Maybe if Harris appears on Oprah again and continues to talk about how she loves fracking and Republicans and wants to appoint them to her cabinet, that would totally be relatable enough for me to vote for her. You know what, that Cheney endorsement was so groundbreaking that I’ll start door knocking while the administration keeps arming the American Empire’s rabid dog in the Middle East while she continues building Trump’s border wall. You won’t get free healthcare or education or anything but with any luck, Yahoo might even drag us into a wider war while the Earth literally melts and your future prospects are stolen from you by the ruling classes. Tax dollars well spent MURICA BABY TWO REPUBLICAN PARTIES LETS GO. I can’t wait to be told the same harm reduction garbage in 4 years when the Demcrats get pulled even more towards fascism while the empire declines.

I’m way too jaded by this lib shit to keep huffing the Dem prescribed copium you’re on.

I really don’t get how people see shit like libs saying you have to vote for Harris or you’ll get what’s coming to you when Trump comes to power, as anything but voter intimidation.

If the Dems lose the election then that’s squarely on them for not having good policy, it’s up to them to win voters. How can you look upon someone rejecting genocide and hate them for it? How is that position so hard to understand?

For what it’s worth I think people should vote Harris but I can’t fault anyone for refusing to do so.

Imagine willingly posting pro-imperialist propaganda and thinking that makes you morally superior…

Can someone provide further sources by what she means by an all out war if Israel loses support? Like stop killing civilians in Gaza, that’s all we’re asking

Well you did say that Dems and Republicans are supporting the same amount of genocide when clearly Republicans are the only one of the two supporting the genocide happening to the Ukrainian people.

We weren’t talking about Ukraine, that much was obvious, pretending I was making a statement about Ukraine is peak dishonesty, especially when we are discussing censorship of calling attention to the Palestinian Genocide.

It’s funny you say that, because almost every rebuttal I see from .world users is just ad hominem and refusing to engage with the extremely valid criticism.

You can disagree about voting strategy all you want, but denial of genocide is fucked up and pretending democrats are anything but enthusiastic supporters is literally a dismissal of objective reality.

It’s funny you says that because in .ml, Hexbear and the other socialist instances, people are banned for just being “liberal” and “Blue MAGA”

You’re free to take your money elsewhere if you aren’t happy with how moderators chose to keep the discussion civil.

I don’t recall commenting on the behaviour of any of those users, I was trying to say that the “attack the ideas” line is basically ignored when .world users try to engage with leftists, I never said the socialists were perfect either, forgive me if I implied as much.

And yes, I do have a problem with mods using their power to suppress dissenting opinions in order to deny genocide, I think that’s an entirely reasonable position for me to take.

You come here and complain about how things are handled all without seeming to bother to see how fairly it is moderated here. I was simply pointing out the opposite end of the spectrum.

It wasn’t my intend to comment aggressively if it came off that way. But…

On .world, you get to speak your mind (or at least in the larger communities that are more organized) if only via a request to follow a few basic rules of civility. I never see mods removing comments or entire accounts because they don’t like the narrative, and for the record, I see a LOT of things reported that I disagree with, but don’t act on because they’re within the rules. And there’s probably a lot more than you know. But it will always seem biased from your perspective if you don’t know how or where to look.

And for the sake of debate, let’s try this:

if we are to divide the two sides and call .world a liberal instance, (which it seems is what you’re trying to do) then we must be fair to look at ml/Hexbear as the opposite side and consider the argument:

They will straight up BAN you for disagreeing with the narrative. Seemingly every day- I see arguments that in no way break the rules get removed. Some for reasons as bold as “Blue MAGA,” others for no reason at all.

So I’ll say again, if you think asking for a few simple rules to be followed is unfair. The door is all around you. And you’re free to use it. Though I’d rather you stay and keep the discussions going.

It’s okay that we disagree. Just remain within the same rules we all follow and we’re all going to be good.

I think this has gone beyond my point so I’ll just state that I don’t have any issue with requiring civility, I didn’t intend to imply anything like that or to take issue with moderation in general, sorry.

I specifically take issue with moderation that minimises and denies an issue that I’m extremely passionate about, but that’s it.

I don’t disagree with your points on the socialist instances, I’m not a socialist and I’m not on those instances, mine is even defederated from hexbear.

My intention was just to point out that the conversation around this issue has, in my experience, been largely a case of ad hominem (as this post literally is) rather than any well meaning good faith discussion.

I think it’s really funny that you claim all this when the top level comment is a clear account of the mods censoring comments that don’t fit the Liberal narrative.

Probably the parts where you said “Biden has given Israel everything they want”, which is blatantly false, and your statement that “They are doing the same amount of genocide”, which cannot be meaningfully assessed when the genocide in Gaza only ramped up under Biden – and there is good reason to believe that Trump would, in fact, be much worse.

The Dems are evil, but being dishonest about their flaws is foolish, unproductive, and deserving of censorship.

Side one: Bully punches you in the face, full force and never ceasing.

Side two: Your pleasant enough neighbor annoyingly pokes you gently in the ribs, a few times a day randomly.

    “Both are assaulting me!!!”

Yes technically, but one is a very different situation. You first defeat the thing punching you in the head so you can live another day to fight the thing giving you the random poke. Whoever doesn’t get the fact that your right to even attempt to fight back is likely the cost of trump at this point… Jan 6th did not happen before in any of our lifetimes, things are tangibly escalating and those of you considering this as a choice at all are just far too comfortable in the rights you think you “own”.

I know Lemmy isn’t the place to speak badly of anyone far to the left, but honestly?

If they aren’t going to be persuaded to vote Harris by the other side of the ticket, I’m not optimistic they’ll be persuaded by people on the Internet being sweet and polite to them.

So imo, who gives a shit about insulting them? It’s pretty clear OP wasn’t intending a post like this to win hearts and minds.
