Kenny Omega has been dealing with diverticulitis over the past several months. Omega reportedly underwent surgery in May to aid in his recovery. In today’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported the following

”He still has some pain but he is training with moderate intensity. I don’t expect him back any time soon for wrestling as he’s still got weakness in the abdominal area from the surgery and can’t start taking bumps yet. There is no estimate on a return.”

Additionally, Meltzer also noted that Kota Ibushi is looking at returning to AEW when Kenny Omega returns.

So, fingers crossed with some luck, maybe by Wrestle Dynasty.

Why is Omega ALWAYS injured??? He’s going to end up being like this generation’s Kevin Nash always tearing his quad.

If it’s a recurring medical condition, then maybe he should not be a wrestler. If it’s a non-recurring wrestler, how is it EVERY TIME I get back into wrestling he’s either already on the shelf, or goes on the shelf very very quickly?

He had physical injuries beforehand which were stacked up for years until he took a year off to heal and rehab. Now he has a problem with his intestines. Calm down lmao

It’s not a recurring medical condition. It’s fucking diverticulitis. The road to recovery is a long one.

Brock Lesnar had to deal with the same thing.
