Vance also said he was “outraged at Trump’s rhetoric, and I worry most of all about how welcome Muslim citizens feel in their own country. And there have always been demagogues willing to exploit the people who believe crazy shit. What seems different to me is that the Republican party offers nothing that’s as attractive as the demagogue.”

Exploit the people who believe crazy shit. Exactly what Vance is doing now that he’s sided with the demagogue.

Vance is even worse than a narcissist. He knows better and chooses to be evil for his own self-interest. I get why Trump likes him. He understands a life being driven by self-interest. And he knows Vance will burn everything down to advance he and Trump’s interests.

These people are the worst indeed. They know it’s wrong, they know it’s evil but they’re still doing it and doubling down whenever they can, just to get some power.

      Fucking sociopaths.

Vance was the liberal heartthrob until he went full MAGA so that he could become a senator.

Oh, he is 100% a Trojan horse, but the people he’s a Trojan horse for are just as bad. Basically every shitty money-man in Silicon Valley that imagined himself a Randian Superman.

JD Vance claimed he we was “just kidding” after texts saying he hated the police resurfaced after it was revealed he was arrested for breaking into an IKEA and abusing two dozen couches in one night.

Conservatives in general. Utterly without fail, I’m immediately repelled, uncanny valley style, whenever I accidentally trip into a conversation with one. Pray tell, what are they conserving except “shit for myself”.

I’m left, and one of my best friends is right.

Sure, we don’t see eye to eye on a lot of politics, but we do have a lot of common ground. Even get into arguments now and again. But we always end up seeing things a little different and then telling some jokes about each other’s parties after.

Immediately writing someone off because of a political view of a great way to get into an echo chamber.

Depends, some of us happen to belong to minorities that the conservative right are actively working to oppress, and that’s not really something one can tolerate.

It’d be one thing if it was a disagreement about what colour to paint the new children’s hospital.

But when they want ethnics in shit jobs for shit pay, queers dead, and AFAB barefoot and pregnant - they can fuck right off.

You’re either privileged enougb to not belong to a minority your friend is actively voting to destroy or extremely forgiving. Either way, good for you.

Pure jibbering, full-bodied, eyes wide, fear. Masked (poorly) by hatred, and xenophobia. Never resting. Always fearful, always cynical; always a new enemy just around the corner.

That’s the vibe I get anyway.

Trump doesn’t want a VP, he wants a doormat that will never pose a challenge to his power.

And the elite that picked Vance want to use Trump’s VP slot as a back door into getting someone as awful as Vance as president without having to go through voters. He’s somehow even worse than Trump. Trump is vain conman. Vance is the real deal.

I love all this shit talking of Vance’s the press keeps digging up. And there seems to be so much of it! I’d love to see a steady drop of this all the way to Election Day, just to dig at Trump.

They had hoped it would demonstrate that fence-riding hardliners could be swayed to Trump’s side. All it did was show that one was willing to sell out and fake it for a chance at the high chair.

With all the donor money passing hands to make Trump’s campaign happen, the VP choice might have been over his head. Vance seems more like a pick the Heritage Foundation (Project 2025) would’ve made imo.

That tiny part of me that loves stupid conspiracies keeps saying they picked him because his name sounds like Pence and either Donnie liked a name he sort of recognized, or if he says “Pence” by accident they can play it off.

What I’d really like to know is if JD Vance would do something unconstitutional for Trump. If he wouldn’t, and that could be the case since the man is just clearly an act, then you know what, he could be the best running mate for Trump because of how much he will eventually undermine him.

But I sort of feel that he will eventually get replaced by someone far, far worse, probably someone like Tucker Carlson. They will also wait to do it closer to the election, and I think it’s why they might be projecting so much against Biden changing to Harris, they want to make the possibility impossible to oppose or at least make it so that it attracts controversy so that it is more difficult to make an issue of the many skeletons Tucker Carlson has in his closet. It’s clear that Tucker Carlson has been getting pampered for a position of power in the US for quite a while.
