I tend to look at the license plate, as in the uk it tells you how old the car is.

For instance MS21 ABC or MS61 ABC would be a car sold in the first half of 2021 or the second half of 2021, respectively. Also, the first two letters say where it was sold.

So based on the age I can see if it’s a purchase after it was well known Elon was a douche or that they have poor quality control or even before everybody else caught up. Then I’ll judge them. For older ones, I’m more lenient.

I know people with Tesla’s and they don’t care about musk. They don’t follow American politics, or are they subbed to him on his platforms. It’s a popular and expensive EV, so it’s great to flex on the poors. When someone gets one, people will fawn over it. That’s just the reality.

I get this, but also it’s stupid when you realize many of those drivers purchased before Elon’s foray into far right bullshit. For a long time elon leaned left (barely) and those buying teslas were investing in alternates motivated by things like climate/fossil fuel usage

What are they supposed to do, simply buy a new car lest they be considered an automatic asshole? Judge the Cyberstuck morons sure, but judging anyone with a Tesla isn’t great

Now with that being said, I also judge Tesla drivers lol

Well, I think a lot of people bought a Tesla before Elon went publicly nuts.

I was personally saving to buy a Tesla, but now I’ll be buying an EV from a different company.

They’re leaving the state because they don’t like us, right? What did they expect?

A lot of Teslas around the SF Bay Area, but lately, noticing many Bolts and Rivians. Guessing the local numbers will change rapidly in the second half of 2024.

The Model Y is still the #1 best selling car in California. When there’s a better ev at the top of that list, it’ll be real news.

Not high enough percent yet. And sadly where I live (on the other side of the states), I see no less than 5-10 teslas on the road just driving 5 miles.

Fuck Musk. But tbh it’s not a huge drop, and there aren’t an infinite number of people, so the number is going to drop naturally. It’s like everyone already has one who wants one. There’s also more competitors for EVs nowadays, which is a good thing.

People don’t keep the same car their entire lives most of the time. Especially one with a shitty build like a Tesla.

Especially one with a shitty build like a Tesla.

I see this posted all the time like it is a universal truth. Usually from random commenters regurgitating what they’ve read elsewhere and not actual owners.

I have a 2018 Model 3. From near the front of the production ramp when the most complaining about issues was happening online. My vehicle didn’t come with any of the panel gaps issues people were posting about and I have had no issues with mine that I didn’t cause myself.

Our Honda Civics have had more build and maintenance issues than my Model 3.

I’m not saying people haven’t had issues with their Teslas, I am a single person. But universally saying Teslas have shit build quality isn’t any more accurate than saying the older American manufacturers make vehicles that almost always fall apart before 100k miles. That’s been my personal experience, but it’s definitely not the case overall.

Ok, so it’s not surprising to me that musk/Tesla is down. But wtf did Stellantis do to get below even Tesla?

Who fucking cares? Wake me when Elon sees ACTUAL impact of his shitty pedophile-supporting (and projecting!) bullshit
