The French: how can we put bread in this?
Bread should always hurt. If crust doesn’t nearly break a tooth, it’s shit bread.
The French understood this. That’s why they call it “pain”.

Store bought croutons are shelf stable bread. Go read any travel diary from the 1800’s. It’s never been good. Real croutons are not shelf stable and do not cut your mouth.
Croutons were made mainly for soup, or ?
