Three Body Problem
Trying not to spoil it but this is a plot point in a relatively famous, relatively recent sci-fi book, where the characters need to record a warning that lasts for millennia. They end up carving it into the rock of Pluto since all other data mediums would fail over that timespan.
Is this… a reasonable take on LinkedIn? wow
hello, mod here! I’m not that active on Lemmy these days so if you want to take over this community and migrate it elsewhere then that would be fine. I keep an eye out for reports etc but I don’t really post here anymore.
Given there are already 5k subs here, I would say it makes more sense to add active moderators rather than try and move the community.
I also recall we advertised for more mods recently and didn’t get much response, so really what we need is a very active mod willing to build up this community. If moving to another instance is the best way to do that, great.
the reviewers spanked
likely not much of a punishment for these perverts
Is this a microblog post?
What happened with Unity in the end? Did they back down?
Great points. Here is the original post:
I will delete this post and replace it with one about the dog whistle.
What the fuck! I thought it was just a cute post about small talk being mostly about boring patterns like the weather and recent sports results.
Might want to try reposting that link dude, it leads to a domain category on reddit?
Eating gizzard sounds offal to me
What? Explain yuself
Oh that is tasty
Totally agree about the offside rule. It’s so boring when attacking play is ruined on a technicality based on a three pixel attacking advantage. Totally misses the point.
To be fair, you are repeatedly quite inflammatory and borderline trolling, which is not the culture of this community at all, so I can understand why there is such a reaction. So, although like I said, this doesn’t technically break any rules, it’s clear that not many people like it.
On the Lemmy app I’m using that doesn’t display correctly.
And then also just in a browser, it’s not the same as an image link.
Thank you again for the suggestion, but this community will remain images only, and you can put a link in the description. That is the only way to ensure everyone gets a consistent experience regardless of how they access Lemmy.
I feel like we could have done better than ‘baked potato’ for a fancy dinner. Come on.
