Clinic staff described packed waiting rooms, full parking lots and phones ringing nonstop in the final days before the state’s new law takes effect.

Abortion clinics in Florida say they have been trying to see as many patients as possible before the state’s ban on abortions after six weeks takes effect Wednesday.

In Jacksonville, a clinic called A Woman’s Choice provided around double its usual volume of abortions Monday, according to Amber Gavin, its vice president of advocacy and operations.

The waiting room has been so crowded that patients’ companions were asked to stay in their cars or drop people off to free up space, Gavin said. Parking spaces were also scarce, prompting some patients to park off-site and walk to the clinic.

“Tomorrow is going to look very different,” Kelly Flynn, CEO of A Woman’s Choice, said Tuesday. “A lot of patients will come in for the consult and be told that we can’t see them.”

I love it when my medical procedures are done on a schedule of “squeeze as many in as possible”. What a train wreck.

So… you’re saying because it will be illegal for women to get abortions until after most of them know they’re pregnant, it should be legal for a man to renounce their paternity?

I agree about Republicans, but is the person I replied to a Republican, or did they try to make a good point and really, really screw up?

Not sure their point was a good one. They are fine with abortion being legal but want a guy to be able to not have to pay child support if a woman does not get an abortion. I could see that argument in the case where a condom broke but I think they are advocating for it in all cases.

Instead, free vasectomies should be offered for those who want one. You don’t want to be a father, get a vasectomy.

Have you considered not sticking your dick in people you don’t want to impregnate? Or getting your testicles removed? Both are very effective in preventing pregnancy.

That’s some double standard bullshit right there.

You would not say that to a woman wanting to get an abortion.

I have, on multiple occasions, supported women who decided they wanted to take action to permanently prevent pregnancy, when they decided they never wanted to have children. Unfortunately, in most instances, doctors don’t support women’s bodily autonomy, but suggest they wait to find a man who can speak for them, or they can wait for menopause.

If a man wants his tubes tied nearly any doctor will comply.

But did you tell them to only sleep with people they want to have a kid with?

            That is my issue

I got a vasectomy. They’re quick and easy to perform, covered mostly by insurance (at least in my case), and they’re reversible (unlike tubular ligation).

Then keep your semen where it is not impregnating people. Also, vasectomies are a thing.
