I’ve been rewatching the series (…again, for like the seventh time), and it really is excellent at filling in the missing details regarding how Anakin fell from being a hero of the Republic.

I just hit season 3 with the Mortis episodes. They are * chef’s kiss * excellent episodes.

I really thought that Rebels followed a similar trajectory to The Clone Wars in that the first season was good but not great, but then the seasons that followed were fantastic at world building and character development.

I hate the Mortis stuff. Not that it’s badly written, but I don’t like what it does to the cosmology of Star Wars. The more we try to add to the mythology of The Force, the more I feel it loses what made it so special in the first trilogy.

That being said, I agree with everything else you said. And my opinion doesn’t count for much since obviously through Ahsoka we’re further canonizing the Mortis stuff.

That’s fair. If you have a lot of reverence for the OT and didn’t like what the PT brought to Star Wars, then I can understand.

        You’re wrong, but I understand. /s

I don’t hate the PT. Phantom Menace brought some of the best visuals to grace the franchise. My exuberant praise of the PT pretty well begins and ends with Duel of the Fates and Podracing, so I’ll just leave it there lest anyone decide to invoke a religious war over it.

Rebels is currently my favorite Star Wars content. Kanan is what the Jedi should be, not the decaying Order of the prequels.

Although Obi Wan was pretty meh, I think that most of the recent stories set during the Rise of the Empire are the best because the heros are the underdogs and the Empire is such a formidable foe. I think a lot was missed by not exploring the The First Order’s rise, and just that we were introduced to them as the new badies who are just like the empire. I guess Disney is relying on Filoni to fix that after the damage has been done.
