Sanders wants to make healthcare work and raise the minimum wage, not exactly fascist. Appealing to centrism does not work in this case, because you cannot have a healthy balance between fascism and democracy, and conservativism is at its core a philosophy concerned with preserving authoritarianism, heirarchy and the concentration of power into the hands of the few.
