Is privacy in ActivityPub really that bad that it hands over that sort of info to every federated instance? As far as I’m aware it essentially proxies and caches posts, so it isn’t bleeding info that way, but it does send people to the original image host which is unfortunate.
On top of that, you’ll also have to make sure that your instance admins defed with Meta
