Are these newer movies really that much worse in general or has the audience just finally gotten tired of the entire MCU? I saw every single one up until the second Spider-Man flick and many of them were just sort of lame. Movies like Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel and Black Panther and the Ant-Man movies which all released in the MCU’s most dominant period leading up to and in between the Thanos movies were pretty bad and they still made a lot of bank.

I watched all those mid movies because I was invested in the shared continuity and wanted to see the different branches of the universe collide with each other. When they finally did, that investment just kind of dissipated, but I think the final nail in the coffin for me was when they announced the Disney+ Marvel shows at which point it just became too much of a time commitment to keep up with.

My impression was Brave got started after he got hoofed out of Mozilla or left on his own accord after the backlash for showing his ass to be a homophobe. Redditor types were of course very angry about this blatant disregard for frozen peaches and jumped onto his new venture in droves

Probably related to the issues I began having yesterday with Revanced- suddenly, videos started to infinitely buffer after around 1 minute of playing. I ended up having to update + reinstall Revanced entirely. Looking at the Revanced subreddit it seems more and more users have started getting affected by the same issue these past few weeks.

Didn’t see a single shooting star this year

Before I left I did get to see cops arrest some people from hundreds of meters away though. For whatever reason, out in the distance cars were regularly stopping by the road while people got out and did something. At one point a cop car showed up with lights flashing and started harassing the people who were currently doing whatever

My quest to catch the Perseids this year has been a complete bust

Two nights ago, I was at the place I usually watch them at only to remember they had installed more streetlights in the vicinity so there was a ton more glare. There was also a lot of mist close to the ground which reflected that glare so it was pretty hopeless. I tried to stick around but then a bunch clouds came in and I left.

Last night I rode out farther to a dirt road between two fields. No lights nearby, perfect. Or it would have been without the brightly-lit clouds covering the entire sky

I was so mad I decided to try one more night despite it already being past peak activity. Naturally, there’s not a single cloud anywhere tonight and I haven’t seen shit

I’m at the same dark road in the middle of some fields and earlier I saw a car pull off a main road and onto the dirt road. They turn a corner and start driving down the same path I’m on. They drive until me and my bike come into view of their headlights at which point the car stops for a moment. Then it slowly backed away and kept driving down the road it first entered until it pulled to the side and the lights went dark. 20 minutes later the lights came back on and the car exited back to the main road

I will say that hanging out in the middle of some wheat in the dead of night is a bit spooky

I usually end up buying from resellers in cases where I’ve been waiting for one of the big Steam sales for a game, only to discover the price not discounted as much as I’d hoped.

Or, in the last case where I used cdkeys.com, I waited until the last day of the Steam Summer Sale to get a game but found out that game’s discount had already ended, presumably due to timezone shenanigans or something. Went to check cdkeys and the game was still there with the discounted price so yeah, I ended up getting a grey market key.

The latter option does leave you with the game in your Steam account though, which is infinitely more convenient than downloading a repack made by some Russian somewhere in 15 parts from 5 different filesharing websites

A family member just told me some news story they had read about North Korea- apparently there’s a huge typhoon incoming and the government has ordered the populace to lay down their lives to protect monuments
