  • Truly ancient history is astounding to ponder. You can think about how things were in your grandparent’s day, and very little has changed. You can go back 5000 years in human history and the only real difference is the knowledge and technology. Hell we could go back 100 million years and it might seem like strolling through a field, except you have to watch out for dinosaurs instead of bears. But go back a couple billion years and we would probably have no chance of survival.

Now take that on the cosmic scale, the differences in the early universe when it was less than a billion years old would be unrecognizable from anything we know. A cosmic hydrogen fog??? That sounds like an atmosphere, something that a space-dwelling creature from a sci-fi novel could develop in. And given the immense stretch of time since then, could such a creature evolve to survive in the rarity of matter between stars today? When you consider just how long of a period several billion years is, it really seems like anything could be possible.

  • I’ve always felt that once we get a grasp on gravity, the motion of all these objects would be easily reproduced. If your craft relies on the manipulation of gravity for motion, it also cancels out the G effects that are currently our biggest limitation to rapid acceleration. And a spherical shape would be ideal for such a craft, allowing movement in all directions.

I’m curious about this description of a dark cube inside a transparent sphere. Could the sphere in this case be our first visual confirmation of the force that propels these crafts? I’ve never run across this description before so it’s something new to ponder.

If these objects are actually visitors from other worlds, could the different shapes being reported indicate technologies or structures preferred by different species? For example, spherical shapes might seen natural to ocean-dwelling species, but the cubical shape may be more representative of a species similar to humans. It’s all pretty fascinating, although I never really followed the UFO folks much (too much conspiracy-theory chat and not really any scientific analysis), so I’m just waiting for the day when they reveal themselves to us, and see what we find out.

  • One thing I REALLY hope doesn’t make it into the clone… Rarbg made a point of claiming every single entry was seeded, despite the fact that pretty much anything more than a few months old was in fact not seeded and could only be obtained if another user came back. If you wanted to grab a TV show that had ended a couple years ago, you could bet that many episodes had a number of peers listed who were hoping it would be seeded again, but they never were. I guess I should clear out that stuff from my client now, but I actually have entries that have been waiting for up to two years because I couldn’t find them anywhere else.

So if any of the devs are reading this thread, please don’t insult your users in this way. Rarbg eventually became my last resort for finding downloads since I knew I couldn’t trust if anything was seeded, despite the high quality of the files that were represented when you could get them.
