It’s MORBIN’ time!
Being disappointed in D4 got me back into Path of Exile. That shit is still good, and the current season is the most fun I’ve had playing an ARPG in years. ARPG’s are still in a good place, Blizzard just shit the bed and expect a pass for it.
Diablo is bad. You can see it in every Dev Chat when they say “we tried something, everyone hated it, we’ll fix it over the next year. In the meantime use your ring slots for all the defenses and resistances we couldn’t figure out before selling you the game.”.
Diablo 4 is bland and stale, not the genre. Look at all the D4 youtubers streaming PoE over the last 2 months and increasing their viewership.
There’s truth to what you say, and I’m not personally a fan of any of the Baldwins, but most of the prosecution of this case has just seemed spiteful and nonsensical to me.
Like, there are cases to be made for Baldwin or the production company to be liable, but they seem to be framing everything as him just straight up murdering the woman, simply because he was holding the weapon. I’d say there are people behind the scenes that were much more responsible for the tragedy than the Actor that was in the scene and handed a hot weapon (including Baldwin, the producer not the actor).
The fact nobody knew about the law, it’s not mentioned during registration, there is no place for other names on the form, and it’s only been used to exclude trans candidates.
Do you understand the words you’re using? It’s all in the article’s outline.
Wealthy people. Broke White people get fucked by the courts too.
There are a few general problems with the idea overall. It’s possible to execute them in an enjoyable way, but a few of your ideas are considered “Do-Not’s” for inexperienced DM’s.
No-win situations aren’t fun. If you’re planning on running a whole combat where the party has no chance of winning, it’s likely they will be frustrated. It removes character agency, and makes all of their decisions and actions meaningless.
You’re better off just starting the session where you want, or forcing the scenario early in a different way, than letting them think their actions will affect the narrative when they won’t. . It’s fine to send them to hell and not give them a chance to avoid it, just don’t make them think that they could have, if that makes sense. It’s about expectations, if you manage them well, you’ll eliminate a lot of disappointment
Don’t take away levels, period. If you want to hinder them for some reason, make the class features themselves unreliable. The Paladin’s smites don’t work in Hell, his god has no power here. Devils resist fire, and have resistance to weapons, etc.
As far as taking their gear, that’s not always a bad idea, but you’ll get mixed opinions on it. If you do it, make sure they can get it back relatively quick. Don’t have them fighting with rocks and sticks for multiple sessions. Maybe one of their captors is looking to escape too, or overthrow the overlord and will get the party’s gear if they help. That gives them a choice to make, and you get to throw in some unintended consequences.
If your main concern is on overpowered magic item, my advice is to let it ride. It won’t be overpowered for long, and as DM you can always tinker with monster number, HP, resists to counter it. Again, it’s a feel-bad moment for a player when you take their cool toys. If it’s very disruptive for your game, or you’re worried about party balance, then just talk to the player and say you need to nerf it some. You can reduce it’s charges or lower the damage dice. Basically anything is preferable to saying “this item is too strong you can’t use it anymore”.
Hopefully some of that was coherent and useful, but good luck with your game. Hope everyone has fun.
They’re not all derivative of each other and they are spelled correctly.
Bon Jovi was actually the dude’s name, by the way. (Bongiovi)
They’re from NATO and obviously don’t have great understanding of the political landscape in the US.
We’re so fucked now because Democrats have been compromising with zealots and reactionaries for a couple decades now. Any compromise at this point comes with more corporate tax breaks or removal of oversight from some sector or another (see the child tax-credit bill that just passed).
I agree with the sentiment, and hope a deal gets done, but compromising with Republicans tends to weaken our citizenry.
He literally did that in 2020, and what the other responder said, happened. He scheduled his own town hall on another network, and Biden spoke for an hour at the agreed upon debate.
How the fuck is a metal detector going to stop a mass shooting in the first place? Most of these shootings aren’t done by current students on a whim. They are ex-students with a vendetta or random acts.
Clear backpacks and morning-metal detector lines aren’t going to deter a mentally unhinged shooter from entering a school. I get these parents are devastated, but their solutions don’t fix anything, maybe get a few kids suspended for drugs at best.
They did that too. Most ISP’S outside of Comcast shrugged as well. The studios lost this fight almost 2 decades ago.
Funny to watch a fascist state form, just so you can get a hit schadenfreude?
Can we not shit on the kids? His daughter didn’t ask him to steal state funds, I assume.
Banner Saga
“propaganda regarding white supremacist and accelerationist ideology in Lightner’s bedroom,”
They say it later in the article, goober. Find something else to take offense to.
Throw that on the pile of impeachable offenses then, I guess?
A stepparent can call their spouse’s children their own. That’s not a lie or a gotcha moment.
What is the purpose of you pointing it out? Do you have an agenda or are you simply a pedant?
It’s not a private sector over there, the government owns part of Tencent (or something similar, don’t quote me).
I was surprised to hear of their ban in the first place, given how big MTX are in China.
Cascading “active shooter incidents” rolling across America, one beginning where the last one ended. A living monument to our love of freedom and firearms.
That’s enough internet for me today…
