Someone find a suitable community icon please. Something that is recognisably Brisbane-y.
Post it here and I’ll set it for the community for all to see.

Perfection!
Ok done, though I don’t know the reference :)
My post appears deleted to me, you can see it? I was working on it at lunch trying to find a royalty-free, nonattributive image and then I came back to it saying it was deleted. Still says it.
The reference is that it’s the Bin Chicken, the most visible Brisbane icon throughout the city, most waste facilities, and wherever it feels like (saw a couple hundred at a dairy farm the other day). You can’t be in Brisbane without seeing them digging around through something, usually bins. They will steal your lunch if possible. They are ugly as all sin which transcends ugliness back in to cute. At this point, the Bin Chicken is a meme of Brisbane that most are familiar with. Someone on reddit was making nice earrings of them and I saw a bin chicken Hawaiian shirt so if you’re wearing them, you’re in the cool club.
Oh I know what bin chickens are, we have them in Perth. I figured there was some specific reference to them around Brisbane that I was unaware of.
Just a lot of them. Not sure how many there are in Perth, last time I was there I was surprised how many magpies there were.
If you go to a tip in Perth, are they covering the waste piles?
Haven’t been to a tip in ages. But we regularly get them in our front yard, and see them around the place getting into bins.
The ballet of Ibis as they dive out of the way of the dozers is not something you easily forget.
the horror, the horror…
Well, the upvote icon on /r/reddit was a bin chicken :)
