Skincare is one of those things I always feel like I should be better at (and that I’m failing as a girl because of it somehow). I’m lucky as my skin is fine really (I drink a lot of water) so I’ve never really done anything. Selfcare is something I struggle with generally so never found it worth the effort.

I’m thinking as I enter my thirties though I should. Just had a sheetmask and enjoyed it but I have no idea where to start generally in terms of it.

What’s your skincare routine? Is it worth the effort/cost?

I think it’s a very individual thing, we all have slightly different bodies that benefit from different care. I don’t think you should worry about “female legitimacy”, do what you need to feel comfortable and stay clean.

I am lucky to have pretty low maintenance skin too, outside of splashing water on my face in the evening and morning, the most I do that has a noticeable effect at least in the short-term is occasionally using a night cream on my face before bed and using a sugar scrub on my body in the shower (legs mainly).

I started the night cream because I was told it was a good habit to help preserve skin quality a bit as you age, but I imagine there’s only so much you can realistically do in that regard, we all get old eventually. The sugar scrub mainly just makes my skin feel nice, and it helps a little with the follicles on my legs (they will sometimes get a bit red from bad quality fabric, or snug clothes etc.)
