As title says, keen to discuss any ideas for features or gameplay enhancements that could make HD2 even better!
Mine are:
-
A startegem that allows you to view the battlefield top down from space to aim/zoom and fire/manoeuvre projectile(s).
-
Text chat and game stats available on the un-skippable post game wrap up screens.
-
Armour with a self-destruction feature, with visible countdown limited uses. Watch out for friendlies!
An on-ship firing range where you can test out the various weapons, improve your skills and kill time in the lobby would be a nice simple addition, I think.
And I absolutely support the idea of being able to do text chat in more situations. Should be able to say nice things during loading screens or talk tactics. When you can and cannot chat seems inconsistent and unclear.
Also, toggle to talk mic option. I’m surprised the developers added the rare Push To Mute option but not a Toggle To Talk.
Text chat available on the equipment/stratagem selection screen would be nice
And ship audio! So many times I come out of the equipment menu to find a full squad has joined and I didn’t even know.
Saved loadouts
It’d be cool if there was mission where you were clearing an objective for the main army to roll in.
Like you go in an blow up some big arty base. Then have to defend the base from counterattack until a tank battalion rolls up
that kinda already happens if by army you mean a squad of 4 cadets with mortars.
Seriously. Anything at ALL that indicated any aspect of one’s game efforts were helping — the ever-changing (and generally arbitrary) stats on the map screen do not count. 🤦🏼♂️
The map when waiting for reinforcement and the ability to ping where to be thrown.
i wanna see team cooldowns on the HUD. it’s on the map but id rather see the cooldowns then their ammo.
mostly so i can see when the next mortar is spawned so i can snipe it off the map.
Would be good as a HUD option at least
I had a daydream about there being a companion app on my phone where I could see my friends were playing and I could send them little assists like dropping ammo or a little autonomous drone or a heath booster.
It was displayed like I was a super earth citizen sending my support donations to the front line.
IIRC, Tom Clancy’s The Division gameplay trailer had a moment where one of the guys in the crew had to leave, but he was able to check up on his crew and call in a supplies drop for them via his real world smartphone. It seemed like an interesting idea, to incorporate a smartphone/tablet as another way to ‘play the game.’ I think there might have also been the ability to hack into CCTV/security cameras and give callouts/info to your crew about what was inside a building, on the street up ahead, or the city block. They ended up cutting from the game, a few months after the gameplay trailer came out.
It’s an intriguing idea to find ways to incorporate other screened devices into the mix of gameplay, but I think it wouldn’t be utilized that often. What would be the strongest reason to allow others to help out in this fashion? I can see how this would appeal to couples or friends, where one is really into video games and the other isn’t. They could feel like they are working together to accomplish the mission/objective.
As for HellDivers 2, I can’t quite imagine where and how having a companion app for the game would work out and be utilized.
a 5 to 8 player mod would be nice. Our squads barely hold together without disconnecting way too much so it might be a big ask until things are more stable.
A game that actually launches? That’d be amazing.
One gem can be assigned to a ‘hotkey’ or simple button combo for controller and can only be set pre-mission
