Let’s do a small Fediverse chess tournament! Everyone is welcome to join!
We will play 10-minute games (10+0) on lichess, a free and open-source chess website. You will be assigned an opponent and will have 2 days to schedule and play your match.
I will decide on the structure of the tournament (brackets, groups etc.) based on the number of sign-ups here :)
Sign up by commenting here with your lichess account name.
Signup deadline is Wednesday, 2pm UTC. Shortly after, I’ll announce the first pairings :)
Looking forward to some nice matches ❤️

edit: I don’t see most of the comments in this thread anymore - I hope this will be fixed until end of next round, so I can add the results
@Vincenius@lemmy.ml Just FYI, but because of the load on lemmy.ml, a lot of the comments and mention notifications on that instance aren’t getting through the backlog and federating to other instances. Compare this post to what I currently see through my home instance or what the lemmy.world folks see. In particular, @Coolbootyjames@lemmy.world seems to have been left out, and it might be a good idea to send DMs to the lemmy.world people to tell them about your comment.
Anyway, something I wanted to ask, but can’t make into a reply to the Round 1 comment yet is what we’re doing for colors. Are we randomizing each game, or should we read the person on the left as being White and the person on the right as being Black?
