I thought it might be fun to have the community icons lean into the beehive theming, so I made some mock-ups as a proof of concept of how they could look. I also made a logo with a more simplified bee and more of a cowboy motif

      Thanks!

Obviously, something like this wouldn’t be feasible on instances where everyone can make their own communities; but since Beehaw only has ~30 communities, I thought the honeycomb theming might be nice to implement

These are great! Would make it easier to spot Beehaw communities among the others when I look through Subscribed or All from time to time.

I might spend a little bit of time and play around with the site’s styling, see if we can make it match the icons a bit. Have an even more cohesive design.

Please feel free to shoot me a DM if you want help with the styling. I’m not exactly an expert at coding, but I’d be happy to help where I can

Woah these look really nice! They feel like they “pop” better and more visually distinguish it being a beehaw community as well!

I really love this idea! As long as all the images fit tidy inside their cells (side-eyes finance) I think we should do this

These look awesome! They’re really cute, the honey comb theme is great, and all the icons are so clear. I’d love to have an easy visual theme like this. And with instances communities not being created willy nilly like I’m noticing on some other instances I think(?), it’s easy to keep up and make more of too.

I love these! You did a great job with them. The honeycomb shape is particularly pleasant to look at.
