I’m surprised he’d want to come back - I’d heard really hurt his back filming the first movie and it happened again in the second one. Something about having to carrying both movies single handedly…
Tbf, the second movie was quite good, even outside of him. He had a lot of support from Knuckles, and Tails and Sonic were very fun together.
I like the movies and he’s my favorite part about them. I just wish they would keep the human family crap out of it. The human story sub plots are by far the most unnecessary parts. I rather them dig deeper into the lore of the creatures and characters. If that makes sense.
Funny that sonic-human relationships were the worst part about the 2000s era games too. That and they(the games) are so bad its actually funny.
Does that include the dark whispers I heard somewhere about sonic having a human girlfriend at some point?
We don’t talk about Sonic '06…
I knew about the one in Sonic 2006.
Apparently he’s had sort of two before that.
An initial one before the first game called “Madonna”, and a sort of cat girl one in the 1990s animated movie.
I didn’t mind the family subplot of the first movie.
But then they resolved it. Life was good.
You don’t need to redo the same family drama for movoe 2/3/4/5 etc
Remember reading at some point that Jim Carrey was set to “retire” after Sonic 2 had wrapped up. Maybe he just really likes the character?
Retire? In this economy?!
Yeah, he said that after the last one, but it’s hard to take anything he says seriously. Maybe he was just tired of answering questions about “what’s next” or maybe he was negotiating for more money.
I think he’s great in the role, and I’ve enjoyed both movies, so this is all good news.
God this makes me happy. These movies are incredibly stupid, but then again it’s Sonic the hedgehog so who cares, but he was so great in them. It was just so good to see old school Jim Carrey you know?
Idris Elba is amazingly brilliant as the straight man in the last one too. Dot dot dot randomly pops into my head all the time.
That’s good news. He’s easily the best part about the first two movies.
First Green Hills, then the universe, then the multiverse, then who knows? Maybe that’ll be enough.
I didn’t watch the first one. Hell, I didn’t even know there was a second one. Skip.
I mean, finally being a part of a successful sequel has given him courage to keep doing it.
