I found a site that doesn’t collect much user data, but it seems to have been down for a while. Attempts to upload the file were unsuccessful.
Maybe you know a site with a good privacy policy where you can get direct links to the file?
A file retention period of at least three months is desirable.
I’ll recommend (as I always do, being a satisfied customer) Filen - scroll down that page and you’ll see the 10gb free tier.
All you need is a working email - get an anonymous forwarder here or here. All the apps are open source, everything is E2EE, the website doesn’t track or fingerprint you and if you decide to upgrade to a paid acct, they accept Monero.
Thank you! I have never heard of it. That’s crazy good deal! Almost too good to be true.
They’ve been around a while now. Their apps (and security) used to be a bit crap but they’ve upped their game a lot over the last 18 months.
The app still sucks ass.
Desktop and Android work fine for me.
They work, but they lack functionality.
Swisstransfer is very good with files up to 2 gb and a quick transaction aka no account needed. It only retains files up to 1 month though.
An alternative would be proton drive. Excellent privacy but you need an account and only get 1 gb on the free version.
What would you consider a good privacy policy? Like what specifically would you want to see?
I know I’m a bit late to this post but no one else has mentioned pixeldrain, if you are still looking for suggestions.
I have said it before, but it is worth repeating, if you want to transfer a large file over the internet between two persons, Bit Torrent is still a good solution.
You obviously need to encrypt the data before sending it, but 7zip should sort that out for you, you then just create a torrent and send the torrent file over, and seed the torrent until completion.
As long as the file is securely encrypted and both sides terminate the torrent as soon as the intended recipient has the file, the risk of data leakage is minimal.
You don’t even need a tracker if the torrent client has the ability to do so.
Oh yeah, magnet links exists
